Sorry but that is not entirely true. After activating new phone sim with Google Fi, as long as you don't insert the Google Fi sim in a "different phone", you are fine. Most, like myself, simply tossed the Google Fi sim in a drawer and no problems getting the $500. Using a different carriers sim in the S22 the entire time.

FakeBro, stop spreading Fake information. This is 100% not true. In the last 3-4 months, I purchased 3 Fold4 and all were just activated on the device and now the sim is seating in the drawer, and never got a chargeback. And one device has already crossed the qualification period and the other 2 will complete their qualification window in 12-15 days.

Just an FYI on obtaining a valid cell number to port. I posted this earlier on in the thread but seems to have been overlooked by many as this is a long thread.

I ordered the five dollar per month plan on hello mobile website. It includes talk text and 500 MB data. Free sim and taxes included. The account number for porting is given to you in an email and you can see it as well by logging into your account online, no need to use their app. The porting pin is the last four digits of your phone number, I confirmed that with customer service. Hope this helps some here who need a valid phone number to port and do not want to take any risk with GV numbers as things may have changed this year.

And bonus, the five dollar hello mobile plan second month is free. No coupon code or referral required. This comes in handy just in case the delivery date keeps getting pushed back by Google Fi.

I ordered my S23U (Black) on the 12th and originally received a delivery date of March 3-8, but a few days later it got moved up to February 24-18 just for the delivery date to be pushed back further to March 2-7.

Has anyone experienced this? It makes sense for the delivery date to be pushed back but so weird for it to be pushed weeks forward just to be pushed back.

It makes me wonder who most of the slick dealers are telling everyone else to search. Probably a bunch of old f****** sitting at a tower computer!!! Smilie

But turning on the desktop option on the mobile browser would solve that search problem. But then they will have the never-ending scrolling left right left right up down zoom in zoom out to get the information they need.

So I'm not surprised people ask questions that were asked and answered before.
Using chrome on S22 Ultra. Desktop mode, in landscape. I mean, it's not rocket science.

I'm super tech savvy and trust me I SEARCHED for that search button here on the mobile app and couldn't find it. It's absolutely stupid to me that the mobile app doesn't have a search option within a thread because when using the website on mobile they keep pushing you to download the app.

I think T-Mobile locked phones can be used with mvnos (prepaid carrier) that run off T-Mobile. My spouse has T-Mobile locked iPhone with a straight talk T-Mobile sim. Unsure how esim would work tho - worth a shot for only $5, or borrow a friend/family phone. You just need to activate that's all it can be removed quickly after port, probably automatically.
Thanks for the reply. I assumed that was the case but hoping maybe someone was able to activate without a phone.

I discussed with rep over the phone and he said that only one of you will get the promo the rest will pay full price and she quoted this role
For individual plans, limit one per person. For group plans, limit one per group plan member.
So be careful
All I did is to buy each phone from each account
Nope, all will get the promo when you invite them and they port over their numbers with the group plan. I have 4 lines with my plan and I got the promo.

This is good to know as I ended up ordering two phones under the same account as well by mistake and by the time I realized they were sold out or trade in price had gone down. When I chatted with two different reps, they said as long as the other account activated the second device after adding a person with BYOD I would get the promo for the second one. I'm still waiting to receive the second phone... got delayed by FedEx

Huh? "One per group plan member" means that you can have many lines in your group plan and one lines can be used to purchase only one phone. For example, if you have four lines, you could purchase four phones (one per each line

Can you invite/bring in someone that already has an active Fi line? Furthermore, if that person's Fi phone is still on a promo, will a plan change from single plan into a group plan disqualify the ongoing promo?

This happened to me on the S23U Green. Pre Orders can be erratic with companies because sometimes they count inventory for what they expect to receive and not what they actually have at the moment. I'm sure Presidents Day is probably making delivery estimates funky too.

I wouldn't trust the rep on that. If you order a phone using acct A and activate it using acct B, then account B has no record of that phone being ordered and the associated checklist (in Billing-->Fi Savings-->In Progress) to check off items like activation, port in, stay on Fi, etc. Meanwhile, acct A will show that phone being ordered/delivered but not activated (under account A); after 30 days from shipment, the promotion fails and they'll charge you for the $600 discount. For your sake, I hope I'm wrong.

After you activate the phone under account B, if you don't see items being checked off FOR THAT PHONE in Billing-->Fi Savings-->In Progress in either account A or account B, contact Fi support and initiate a return before 15 days are up.

Yep. Ordered s23u cream on 2/2. Original delivery date was 3/8-3/16. Last week it was moved up to 2/22-2/23. Yesterday is moved back to 3/1-3/2.

At this point who knows when it will be delivered and from where. I'm about a 1hr drive from the Mtn View Google Hq...so it's frustrating to have to wait so long. 😆

hpham_53, i too don't trust the reps but always ask for a transcript sent to your email just in case.

Even a transcript isn't worth much. Look at all the transcripts of Fi reps telling people that GV numbers don't qualify for port-in. Yet there are several posts from people who successfully ported in their GV numbers for this S23 deal.
