Sorry but that is not entirely true. After activating new phone sim with Google Fi, as long as you don't insert the Google Fi sim in a "different phone", you are fine. Most, like myself, simply tossed the Google Fi sim in a drawer and no problems getting the $500. Using a different carriers sim in the S22 the entire time.

FakeBro, stop spreading Fake information. This is 100% not true. In the last 3-4 months, I purchased 3 Fold4 and all were just activated on the device and now the sim is seating in the drawer, and never got a chargeback. And one device has already crossed the qualification period and the other 2 will complete their qualification window in 12-15 days.

Just an FYI on obtaining a valid cell number to port. I posted this earlier on in the thread but seems to have been overlooked by many as this is a long thread.

I ordered the five dollar per month plan on hello mobile website. It includes talk text and 500 MB data. Free sim and taxes included. The account number for porting is given to you in an email and you can see it as well by logging into your account online, no need to use their app. The porting pin is the last four digits of your phone number, I confirmed that with customer service. Hope this helps some here who need a valid phone number to port and do not want to take any risk with GV numbers as things may have changed this year.

And bonus, the five dollar hello mobile plan second month is free. No coupon code or referral required. This comes in handy just in case the delivery date keeps getting pushed back by Google Fi.

I can see the checkbox under 'transferred a number to fi' but no
120 day countdown yet. Where do I go go see that ? it's been less than 24 hours since activation and the port being successful

Also any problem with pausing the data plan portion for the plan? I want to pay for only texts and calls and also don't want to mess up the promotion.

Ok good advice. The reps sometimes say things that aren't accurate. They assured me no problem but I'd rather not mess with it.

I see a day countdown after the first 24 hours !

Just want to add another anecdote for porting in google voice numbers.
Took about an hour or two for them to pull the number through after activating on the fi app.
Progress now shows keep active for 120days, so I'm gonna assume I'm safe now.

Depends on the GV number. Mine was activated within seconds, almost immediately.

I currently have an s22 Ultra 256 gig. Posted it on Facebook market. Ideally wanted at least $750 for it but already have an offer for $700. Should I go ahead and just take the offer instead of trying to sell it for more online?

Yes you can do it all on the website.
I kept the app so I could view it more quickly.
