Sorry but that is not entirely true. After activating new phone sim with Google Fi, as long as you don't insert the Google Fi sim in a "different phone", you are fine. Most, like myself, simply tossed the Google Fi sim in a drawer and no problems getting the $500. Using a different carriers sim in the S22 the entire time.

FakeBro, stop spreading Fake information. This is 100% not true. In the last 3-4 months, I purchased 3 Fold4 and all were just activated on the device and now the sim is seating in the drawer, and never got a chargeback. And one device has already crossed the qualification period and the other 2 will complete their qualification window in 12-15 days.

Just an FYI on obtaining a valid cell number to port. I posted this earlier on in the thread but seems to have been overlooked by many as this is a long thread.

I ordered the five dollar per month plan on hello mobile website. It includes talk text and 500 MB data. Free sim and taxes included. The account number for porting is given to you in an email and you can see it as well by logging into your account online, no need to use their app. The porting pin is the last four digits of your phone number, I confirmed that with customer service. Hope this helps some here who need a valid phone number to port and do not want to take any risk with GV numbers as things may have changed this year.

And bonus, the five dollar hello mobile plan second month is free. No coupon code or referral required. This comes in handy just in case the delivery date keeps getting pushed back by Google Fi.

With my previous Fi deals that required a port-in, the port-in info was already in the Fi account (entered during ordering). When I got the phone, I connected it to WiFi, downloaded the Fi app and logged in with the same Fi account that ordered the phone, then ran it to activate the phone. It pulled the port-in info from the Fi account and completed the port-in at that moment.
I had the same experience. Since the Google Fi app asked for my Google account login, the app just pulled in the port-in information that I had pre-filled on the website beforehand (which everyone likely did when first ordering the phone). This step in the app (where it pulls in your account info) is also the chance where people can change their port-in number if they wanted to do so.

I had a similar experience. I was getting worried as FI said the transfer takes about 15min and it took 2+hours.

Some of the questions it asks were not provided on the E-bay message but I was able to go to https://myaccount.boostmobile.com (that site worked for me even while main Boost site was down) and got the ZIP code and name on the account.

Ordered a S23U black on 12/2 received it on 2/24 via UPS.
The Boosts port numbers I have seen on eBay say just to use your own name and address for the port in information. I'm wondering if that has worked for others using Boost numbers off eBay?

With regards to the ZIP and name on the account, I actually just used my own Zip Code and name when porting-in a random Boost Mobile number, and they didn't give me any problems for it. My understanding is that you can put whatever you want for the address, Zip, and name when you're porting in on the Google Fi app. That being said, when I purchased my Boost Mobile number on E-bay, I did ask for an area code that matched my address (I don't think that's a requirement; I'm just a little paranoid like that).

So, this was probably covered before but can't find it. Is it safe to uninstall the FI App after activating the phone?

For the life of me, I couldn't find/see the countdown on the Fi app (on my S22, Pixel 7, and S23). I looked under Billing, scroll up/down, saw the bills, etc but not the Fi Savings tab that people say it's there in the app. So I always use the Fi web site. Could you tell me where to find it in the app, or post a screenshot of it? Thanks.
Ok, finally got my number and ported. 🥳

I can find it under Billing>Fi Savings>In progress. You don't have Fi savings?

I've done it with several Fi phones. That app is needed just to activate the phone.

One year of piece of mind for only $44.50 is a good deal, IMO.
Just accidentally damage, not include Lost & Stolen

I've deleted the Fi app on my S23. But attached is what the Fi app showed on my Pixel 7. The Fi app on my S23 had pretty much the same info. I'd have easily seen the Fi Savings info if it were there.

Are you on eSIM? I switched to eSIM and that section disappeared from my app.

My Fi P7 was activated with eSIM, but my S23 is using the physical SIM. Did you activate your S23 using eSIM, or you just toggled the SIMs using the SIM Manager to make the Fi Savings appear/disappear?

I originally actviated mine with the physical SIM. I removed it and activated eSIM.

I just put my physical SIM back in,rebooted and the Fi Savings is back in the app. At least on my phone, it seems linked to what type of SIM you have, which is annoying. Guess I won't be able to anxiously check the dates every day from my phone 😂.

Thanks for partially solving the mystery. I still don't know why I didn't see the Fi Savings with the Fi app on my S23. I won't reinstall it. I hate that app because it gave me a scare. After I activated my S23 and uninstalled the Fi app, I used the Samsung Smart Switch app to copy apps/files from another Fi phone to the S23. When the Fi app was copied over from the other phone, it kept popping up saying "Activation Incomplete. Run the Fi app again to finish activation". I thought WTH, the phone is working with calls/texts, how can the activation be incomplete? Did I screw up the promo? Then it dawned on me that the Fi app copied over from the other phone was logged into that phone's Fi account. I promptly deleted the Fi app on my S23 and the warning went away. My countdown is counting as expected.

I have seen that deal, but read comments about woot sending fake chargers, and when asking woot about them, they immediately refunded, on the other hand , the $11.99 chargers are sold directly by samsung
Yes, some of the chargers from Woot may not be genuine...so I would go directly with Samsung..

My S23U shipped on the 22nd for delivery on 24th... that didn't happen and now UPS tracking has changed to
"The delivery date will be provided as soon as possible."

I skimmed some of kenpet's replies and he didn't say which he had, so that's probably why. He could have bought a smaller capacity, so it shipped out earlier.
I got S23U 512GB Cream
