Sorry but that is not entirely true. After activating new phone sim with Google Fi, as long as you don't insert the Google Fi sim in a "different phone", you are fine. Most, like myself, simply tossed the Google Fi sim in a drawer and no problems getting the $500. Using a different carriers sim in the S22 the entire time.

FakeBro, stop spreading Fake information. This is 100% not true. In the last 3-4 months, I purchased 3 Fold4 and all were just activated on the device and now the sim is seating in the drawer, and never got a chargeback. And one device has already crossed the qualification period and the other 2 will complete their qualification window in 12-15 days.

Just an FYI on obtaining a valid cell number to port. I posted this earlier on in the thread but seems to have been overlooked by many as this is a long thread.

I ordered the five dollar per month plan on hello mobile website. It includes talk text and 500 MB data. Free sim and taxes included. The account number for porting is given to you in an email and you can see it as well by logging into your account online, no need to use their app. The porting pin is the last four digits of your phone number, I confirmed that with customer service. Hope this helps some here who need a valid phone number to port and do not want to take any risk with GV numbers as things may have changed this year.

And bonus, the five dollar hello mobile plan second month is free. No coupon code or referral required. This comes in handy just in case the delivery date keeps getting pushed back by Google Fi.

Superfast is supposed to show when the phone is charging at 25w. Superfast 2.0 is supposed to show when the phone is charging at 45w. I believe you also need to use at least a 5a rated cable to get that superfast 2.0, even with 45w+ chargers.
Well the other chargers are supposed to charge at 45w but obviously they aren't

BOX WAS EMPTY!!!!

Delivered today. I can tell box was tampered with. Seal still on, but one side of box ripped out and put back in. Only thing inside was the brown stuffing paper. Furious. Calling Google now to see what to do.

Who was your courier? FedEx or UPS? And from which fulfilment center did your phone ship out from?

It's possible the theft occurred at the infamous Fedex Bloomington CA hub.

There were issues in the FedEx Bloomington hub a few years back where the ATF had to get involved because firearms being shipped via FedEx that were going through this regional hub were going missing and obviously that's a much bigger issue than some electronics going missing. There seems to be a lot of sticky fingers over there.

I have no idea. On hold right now. The guy had me email pictures of the box. He's going to "escalate" it. Crazy the kind of luck I have with things like this.

Edit: Latest is I'm waiting on an email from the "Product Support Team" who are now handling the "case" and will take care of the "replacement process."

Unbelievable. Fingers crossed.

Here I was happy with how it actually got shipped and delivered much earlier than the original estimate. I placed the order on Feb 4th. I don't remember the exact estimated shipping date at that time, but it was definitely in March, I think around the 13th or so. Ended up getting shipped on Feb 21st. Who knows how long I'll be waiting now...

Not the first one from Ingram Micro that was stolen. While there are no guarantees when mine finally ships nor if it will come from Ingram, living 12 miles from Rancho Cucamonga it's a good possibility that is where it will be from.

Is that where people are jumping on trains and stealing stuff? I remember seeing that in the news last year sometime.

I'll also add that I got a Google Fi email on Feb 16th (phone was ordered Feb 4th) reminding me to activate my Google Fi service: "If you signed up with a promotion, you have 30 days from signup to activate your service and receive your credit."

I responded to that with "I'm still waiting on the phone. I get 30 days from receipt of the phone to activate, correct?"

Never got a response to that question, but the phone was shipped 5 days later.

Now I'm wondering if the fact that they randomly cancelled my orders (without making any attempt to charge my card) is a blessing in disguise.
