Sorry but that is not entirely true. After activating new phone sim with Google Fi, as long as you don't insert the Google Fi sim in a "different phone", you are fine. Most, like myself, simply tossed the Google Fi sim in a drawer and no problems getting the $500. Using a different carriers sim in the S22 the entire time.

FakeBro, stop spreading Fake information. This is 100% not true. In the last 3-4 months, I purchased 3 Fold4 and all were just activated on the device and now the sim is seating in the drawer, and never got a chargeback. And one device has already crossed the qualification period and the other 2 will complete their qualification window in 12-15 days.

Just an FYI on obtaining a valid cell number to port. I posted this earlier on in the thread but seems to have been overlooked by many as this is a long thread.

I ordered the five dollar per month plan on hello mobile website. It includes talk text and 500 MB data. Free sim and taxes included. The account number for porting is given to you in an email and you can see it as well by logging into your account online, no need to use their app. The porting pin is the last four digits of your phone number, I confirmed that with customer service. Hope this helps some here who need a valid phone number to port and do not want to take any risk with GV numbers as things may have changed this year.

And bonus, the five dollar hello mobile plan second month is free. No coupon code or referral required. This comes in handy just in case the delivery date keeps getting pushed back by Google Fi.

Lol I live an hour from Google HQ but my phone is coming from. Hodgkins, IL. Guess they have a distribution center near there?

UPS says it's 0.90LBs so hopefully it's not an empty box. 🤞

Edit..anyone port in from xfinity mobile? Curious what I will need.
Do know if they even ship from Corp HQ? Wouldn't surprise me if they didn't.

Are these phones sold defective? I got 3 hours screen on time and 7 hours of screen off time. I charged my phone to 85 down to 20. I use Bluetooth for my earbuds, all apps sleeping, adaptive battery off, screen turns off 30secs, automatic screen brightness, fhd, 120hz,and battery profile set to standard.

Existing FI customer, activated the phone and the counter is down to 119 days now. I need to use a non Fi SIM going forward - should I reset the phone or just pop in the other SIM while also removing the Fi app. I know this has been discussed multiple times but couldn't really figure out the common process most have followed, thanks

I don't know. Even my base s23 is not giving good battery life. It's similar to my 2 years old galaxy s21 with same apps and usage .I don't understand all this hype about battery life.

Is anyone here on Verizon and still waiting for a s23 ultra?

I pre-ordered two (black and cream) on Feb 14th and VZW can't even give me a estimated ship date. The order won't even show up in My Orders until after they get stock.

Super frustrated given that the local store (2 miles away from me) had these devices in stock on Feb 17th. Had their dumb site indicated they were back-ordered, I would have chosen in-store pickup. The company's logistics are a farce.

I'm an idiot and didn't read the fine print on the eBay listing for the Boost number I bought to port over. The number was only valid for 14 days and it's been over a month.

I didn't realize this until now when I put the number into the Google Fi app to transfer it. Now I've been stuck in "Transferring Number" status for over 6 hours. Is there anyway to back out and redo the number transfer with a fresh number I'll buy off eBay? Or do I have to wait until the Fi app tells me the transfer didn't work?

I am mad at myself.

So Technically after Fi activation and took out the Fi SIM, the phone can be given to anyone to use?
yeah but if they put another Fi sim in you could lose the promo.

Just used Youtube Revanced...it's like Youtube Premium, but free and actually has more features.
ONLY use Brave browser, its by far the best solution. No ads with no addons. Plus it blocks facebook and google tracking scripts and junk from all other websites so your browsing is faster and your battery lasts a lot longer. Also I have personally switched to Brave search to cut off Google as much as possible.

Never install addons and never install chrome on any devices if you can. If you need a second browser to remain logged int on a different google account use Brave Nightly so you have two concurrent browsers on different Google accounts.

Buy/Get a new number. Contact Fi support and ask the rep to use it for your port-in.

Quick question, I dont think this was asked before!

I activated the S23U with Google Fi sim inside. Works fine.

Can I ADD my real number on Metro as the eSIM and have both numbers on the device?

I have activated my U23 with Google fi sim two days ago.
Can I remove fi sim and put my total Verizon sim now?
Do I have to reset phone after putting my sim?
Do I have to delete fi app?
Or just putting new sim is fine?
Please help

Yea, most of the Carriers/Stores are finding the loopholes and fixing it (seems they have their agents on this platform)
  • For iPhones/Samsung: Costco T-Mobile use to have a very good BOGO offer (with instant refund instead of Bill Credit). No this is dead.
  • For Samsung: Samsung used to have a loophole where you can stack cb from R10, P@W, Paypal, and also Cancel Trick to get an additional 10% off plus price match, but now all these are fixed.
  • For Samsung/Pixel: Google Fi had the instant discount, but now this is also fixed.
I really think some of these discussions should be limited to SD premium users or those who have been here for 5+ years. Lot ppl take advantage of loopholes mentioned in these posts but never contribute to discussion.

Anyone else buy a Boost number off fleabay and upon using it to port into Fi it shows as a Sprint account? I'm going on 30 minutes on the transfer and still not ready for use. Apparently 15 minute transfers are more customary. I'm not sure if I was able to manually change the account to T-Mobile, or if I should have even tried?

EDIT: OK, a different screen that I went to on the phone to check for transfer status says it can take up to a day.
