Sorry but that is not entirely true. After activating new phone sim with Google Fi, as long as you don't insert the Google Fi sim in a "different phone", you are fine. Most, like myself, simply tossed the Google Fi sim in a drawer and no problems getting the $500. Using a different carriers sim in the S22 the entire time.

FakeBro, stop spreading Fake information. This is 100% not true. In the last 3-4 months, I purchased 3 Fold4 and all were just activated on the device and now the sim is seating in the drawer, and never got a chargeback. And one device has already crossed the qualification period and the other 2 will complete their qualification window in 12-15 days.

Just an FYI on obtaining a valid cell number to port. I posted this earlier on in the thread but seems to have been overlooked by many as this is a long thread.

I ordered the five dollar per month plan on hello mobile website. It includes talk text and 500 MB data. Free sim and taxes included. The account number for porting is given to you in an email and you can see it as well by logging into your account online, no need to use their app. The porting pin is the last four digits of your phone number, I confirmed that with customer service. Hope this helps some here who need a valid phone number to port and do not want to take any risk with GV numbers as things may have changed this year.

And bonus, the five dollar hello mobile plan second month is free. No coupon code or referral required. This comes in handy just in case the delivery date keeps getting pushed back by Google Fi.

Please take a look at the bill when it's available and tell us when the billing period starts and ends.

Typically billing starts 2 days after activation. You activated on 3/4, billing starts on 3/6 and covers through 4/5. Bill is auto paid on 3/17. You actually get 2 free days of service. Nothing slimy about it.

This is what I see in the details below. Am I missing something?

Your monthly statement
Here's a quick summary of your March 6 statement:
Your total is $24.69
Auto-payment is scheduled for March 17, 2023.

March 6 statement means your billing period starts on March 6. March 17 is when the bill is auto paid. Fi is prepaid. So the $24.69 ($20 + taxes & fees) is for service from 3/6 to 4/5. Next bill starts on 4/6, 5/6, 6/6, etc.

Deleted Fi app, had to restart the phone for unrelated reasons but when i did i got the same notification you get when you first boot up the phone: to download the Fi app in order to activate your mobile service. Obviously I'm pretty sure this is just some bug and not anything serious, but has anyone else gotten this notification after restarting? It was a constant notification too, couldnt get rid of it so i downloaded the Fi app to make it go away..and promptly deleted it again.
Running fi sim with usmobile esim. And had also deleted fi app. After restart of the phone I also get the "activate mobile service" message to download fi app to activate. The notification does not go away.
Fi sim is still working as is the esim as well though

Does your checklist have a checkmark for activation? Is the counter counting down?

My S23U has been stuck at UPS in NorCal since Friday. I keep getting a delivery date will be provided asap. If it's not here in another day I will need to call.

Nice so this IS possible!?! I was planning on moving my Metro sim over the S23U eSim and keep the Fi sim in the phone and active for 120 days. Was not sure if I can keep the data off for the Fi Sim.

Mine made it to the Oakland hub and then went MIA - I'm assuming it was stolen. UPS told me to file a claim. Fi support shipped me a replacement device, which should arrive tomorrow.

I am hoping it isn't stolen. I was expecting it last Friday but UPS doesn't work on weekends so I figured it would be a Mon or Tues before they deliver.

A shipment that arrived at your local hub on Friday should have been scanned out for delivery on Saturday, or Monday at the latest. If you still haven't seen any new activity, I would assume the package is lost/stolen. Mine went missing at the "processing at UPS facility" step.

Yes have checkmark for activation, and counter is counting down. Had been using it for couple days before phone restart happened.

Yes using esim with Fi sim works. I set my esim as primary so all the data goes through primary sim.

If you have the checkmark for activation and the counter is counting down, I'd ignore the message to (re)activate the phone. There must be bits of info left somewhere by the Fi app, but the phone was reset that should've cleared it. I don't know.

Yes, you should call them. BTW, did you do any cancelling/reordering?
Hello I have that "a new fi member activated the device" message. However I have not even opened the case/used the phone.

I did cancel and reorder. What does that have to do with the message?
