Sorry but that is not entirely true. After activating new phone sim with Google Fi, as long as you don't insert the Google Fi sim in a "different phone", you are fine. Most, like myself, simply tossed the Google Fi sim in a drawer and no problems getting the $500. Using a different carriers sim in the S22 the entire time.

FakeBro, stop spreading Fake information. This is 100% not true. In the last 3-4 months, I purchased 3 Fold4 and all were just activated on the device and now the sim is seating in the drawer, and never got a chargeback. And one device has already crossed the qualification period and the other 2 will complete their qualification window in 12-15 days.

Just an FYI on obtaining a valid cell number to port. I posted this earlier on in the thread but seems to have been overlooked by many as this is a long thread.

I ordered the five dollar per month plan on hello mobile website. It includes talk text and 500 MB data. Free sim and taxes included. The account number for porting is given to you in an email and you can see it as well by logging into your account online, no need to use their app. The porting pin is the last four digits of your phone number, I confirmed that with customer service. Hope this helps some here who need a valid phone number to port and do not want to take any risk with GV numbers as things may have changed this year.

And bonus, the five dollar hello mobile plan second month is free. No coupon code or referral required. This comes in handy just in case the delivery date keeps getting pushed back by Google Fi.

Some people took video of them putting the trade-in phone into the box, sealing it and mailing it. That only proves that they did mail the phone, but doesn't resolve the issue of the package arrives empty with the content stolen somewhere. Unfortunately, the prepaid label provided by Fi is for First-Class Package which carries only $100 insurance by default. In most cases, only the shipper who paid for the shipping cost can file a claim with the carrier. With the shipping being prepaid by Fi, they probably will have to file the claim. There were past posts from people who had their trade-in phone stolen, sometimes Fi gave them the credit if they could prove that they mailed the phone, sometimes Fi said "Tough Luck". Hopefully your case will have good outcome.
I took an entire video of me showing the phone putting it into the box, labelling the box, sealing the box and even dropping it off at the post office simply due to this reason alone. Hopefully it goes through with no issues. Fingers crossed!

Anyone have issues with YouTube premium.

It will play for 20-30 mins with the screen off and then just stop. Or it won't auto play the next video.

Auto play next video is turned on.

Or if I get a phone call it won't resume play.

My trade-in was accepted today and credited back to me for the full quoted amount. Can finally breathe easy on this whole process. Guess I paid for part of this phone with stress 😅

Sorry if this is a really basic question but I purchased a Hello mobile plan to port in. I had them remove the lock so I could port in and also got the pin. I just got my SIM card for Hello Mobile. Do I have to activate it (assuming it isn't already) by putting in my current phone (not the S23 - that's still being delivered) and go through that process, before I port in? Or am I okay just going through the process what's my S23 gets here of activating on Google Fi?

Wow sorry to hear that. How much time had passed between your package being delivered and you getting that email? And what does it say on our trade-in status page?
It's been about a week. I keep getting the same blanket response from their customer service. I've tried calling multiple times and they keep saying "wait for out escalation team to respond via email". I literally can't seem to get through to them no matter how hard I try. All I keep asking for is for some details on what they think they received. I even took pictures before I sent in the phone because I was scared of something like this happening. They won't acknowledge anything even when I told them that.

"I see that you've contacted us regarding the trade in devices. As informed earlier, our team has returned the device as the estimated trade-in value becomes $0 due to which the device is being returned. You can expect to receive the device in 10 or fewer business days."

Sent in trade-in on 3/3. Delivered on 3/7. Got an email today (3/9) for the elevated quote. My Note 10+ has cracked back. So it was quoted for $115 but got an email for $155. Will see how long will it take for the refund to show up.

EDIT: Trade-in credit posted on 3/11 back to CC.

Contact Fi support and they can check and see if the warehouse already received it. The USPS tracking info is unreliable once the package got to the Nashville Distribution Center.

No, the Fi SIM does not have to stay in the S23 phone all the time, and the phone doesn't have to be on all the time either. There was a post from FakeBro earlier in the thread with misinformation that caused a lot of needless worry. After my Fi S23 was activated and the countdown started, I removed the physical Fi SIM, stashed it away and started using the phone with my Tracfone SIM. It continues to count down each day.
How do you see the count down? Is there a tracker in the Fi account?

I would recommend that you activate the SIM card in your current phone and make a test call before you try to. Do? The port. Why not? It takes like five minutes.

In my Fi account shows 110 days left.
1. Can I restore to factory settings and erase all info in the new s23 ultra phone or will that void the promotion?

2. Can I use another comapny sim card from another country and use it outside USA in s23 ultra?

3. Do I have to use the data from fi? It charges 5 dollars if you use it, I really do not need it unless it avoids the promotion
