I've read that my fellow SD-ers don't care for carrier promotions. Okay, but this one is good.

I've been on T-Mobile for years, and I've had good experience with them, although YMMV. If you're on their Magenta Max plan, as I am, or are willing to switch to that plan, here's the deal:

$1,379.99 Galaxy S23 Ultra, 512GB, full price
(180.00) Samsung's current promo of 512GB for the price of 256GB
-------------
$1,199.99 T-Mo's price for the phone
(1,000.00) T-Mo's current trade-in promotion for my Galaxy S21+ 5G
-------------
199.99 which must be paid in 24 monthly instalments of $8.34
========

Older phones get less than $1,000 trade-in.

Depending on your state, you'll have to pay tax on $1,199.99 up front. Also, T-Mo charges a $35 upgrade fee (taxable) which is pure BS, so I'm going to try to get it back.

Caveats:
1- Have to be okay with a carrier-locked phone, at least until it's paid for.
2- Have to be okay with T-Mobile. (Verizon has a similar deal.)
3- Have to be on their Magenta Max plan. I'm on MM 55+. (Membership has its privileges. Smilie)
4- Only recent phones qualify for $1,000 trade-in.

And also this ...

5- Have to be okay with the Galaxy S23 Ultra. Not everyone is impressed by it.

TBH, I don't really need all that the S23 Ultra offers, but for $200, WTH. And it will assure me of a top-dollar trade-in for the next phone.

Anyone going through the upgrade on Samsung.com but when it comes to checking out, it says $420 downpayment? Or does it not reflect the bill credit until it's processed?

S22 Ultra, the page claimed 1000 credit, but before submitting, it said $420 downpayment and 43/month on monthly bill ( already have Magenta Max)

Dude, Samsung website is all F@#$ up. you can read it on R e d you know the website. goto the TMOBILE forum.

I ended up buying from T-Mobile due to frustration. Had to pay the stupid DCC $35. I hear best buy works pretty well but I can't confirm fully. the offer $100 GC and no DCC fee. Costco Tmobile (Limited) offer $75 GC but can not confirm about DCC charge.

That sucks, I was also trying to take advantage of the 15% CB, I guess I'll pass this generation since I was never that pressed to upgrade this year anyway

You didn't run into the deposit issue. They were asking for $400+ people were having issues with trade in devices not showing up after ordering
It did for first few days after the pre-orders were open but not yesterday.

Samsung website deals on the S23 is SHIT*

Really no incentive for anyone to upgrade from an S21 or S22.

Hopefully they will up the deals after a month or two of very SLOW sales.

I made orders at Best Buy on Feb7. They didn't require any deposit and there was no upgrade fee. However, I think I will be charged $35 upgrade fee by T mobile because they have started charging the upgrade fee since last Nov. 2022.

I couldn't select the green color or cream color since they were sold out. Only black colors were available and my pick up date also has been pushed back from 17th to 28th. This preorder seems very popular. The $100 BB gift card was given right away. The BB $100 gift card is more useful than the $120 smasung credit only for Samsung products.

One thing I want to point is that the memory upgrade promotion from 256GB to 512GB is done by Samsung as a pre-order benefit, not by Tmobile. Tmobile promotion is upto $1000 trade-in recurring credits for the 24 installment plan.

I had 5 installments left and payed them off early after reading some posts here. And Tmobile rep. confirmed that Tmobile will keep giving me the recurring credits for 5 months though I early pay them off. Thus I am not going to lose 5 months recurring credits. This is really cool.

I think this Tmobile galaxy s23 ultra promotion is pretty awesome deal for me. Thumbs up 👍

What was a nice pleasant surprise? What plan, what upgrade, what price?

Traded 2 x S21 5G. Received $1,000 credit for each Ultra 512GB. Technically they gave me $57 trade-in credit right up front and then the rest is going to be via monthly payments.

Phone is normally $50 a month. My payments are $10.70 per phone.

I was on magenta military 4 phones $100.

I did have to upgrade to the Max so I upgraded to magenta Max military.

According to my chat records, the customer representative stated that I would be upgraded to magenta military max And it'll only cost $100 for four phones. So same price as magenta military for me.

I was expecting to pay $140 for magenta max military.

But the plan change is effective at my next billing cycle which is 3 weeks. So I'll find out for certain if the customer rep made a mistake or not. But I have the chat record as proof. So if they give me a hard time I'll push back on it and insist they honor their chat agreement price.

Also went with BB pre order since Samsung was charging crazy downpayment (Best Buy and Tmo didnt require any) You already received the BB gift card? Mine is not being sent until all parts of the order are ready for pickup.

I went to the BB local store to preoder my phone, not through online. Yep, the BB staff gave me the gift card after finishing all processes. I guess you have ordered yours online?

I did T-Mobile carrier offer through samsung.com and got storage upgrade, $70 accessories credit (Add $50 reserve credit, if you have that) no upgrade fee, and 15% Cashback ($180). I have trade-in Note 10 and got Watch 5 Bluetooth for free (or Watch 5 Pro Bluetooth for $100) as Note 10 trade-in special deal. No accessories credit if you take watch deal.
Did you get $180 cash back? How much down did you pay?
