Your math is off. (20x14)/1000 = 0.28 x 10 cents = 2.8 cents per day.
28 cents seemed high since I don't use 28 cents worth of herbs per day on average.
FYI, you can plant ANY seeds you want in there. You can get the pods and holders from places like Amazon. You can also get a germination tray that will allow you to sprout dozens of seeds at once.

Like the 2 people above, I'm also curious to know if this is better than the one at Sam's. I've scheduled a store pick up this weekend and I'm panicking as it is because I'm a serial plant killer. I've killed Peppermint which apparently takes over the entire lawn if you let it. I have zero confidence but I do crave fresh herbs at my disposal because we do cook a lot at home and definitely use so many fresh herbs, especially the less popular ones not so readily available. Doesn't matter, even if I could have curry leaves, coriander, mint and basil, I'd be so happy!!
With your invasive species killing skills you could make enough money to have fresh herbs delivered to your door!
I saw a post about growing strawberries with this. I had visions of strawberry vines taking over my house and bed.
Functionally they're the same - same # of pods (6), same wattage (20w), height the light can be raised (12"), hours light stays on (15), etc. The only difference is the shape (circle vs rectangular). Similarly the Harvest Slim is functionally the same as Harvest and Harvest 360 but different form factor
Thank you for that. Is one shape better than the other for growing. I read somewhere (cant remember where and why) that Slim might be bit better.
Most herbs are simply cheaper to buy at a store. Is there one that makes economic sense to grow yourself?
This, like growing herbs in your garden, is mostly about having constant access, rather than saving money. When I used to have a rosemary bush, I always had fresh rosemary and would use it in all kinds of recipes, from bread to roasts.

I think the main benefit is spacing. I don't have a 360 but there's a slot right in the middle which might be better for growing just 1 pod, for example a tomato plant since it spreads out. The Slim looks like it'd be better for easier access since there's nothing in front or back but just to side. I think they growing would all be similar so my factor would probably boil down to price
Yeah just kind of sucks it didn't come with the seeds advertised on the box. Didn't seem very efficient to spend all that time/electricity growing 2 salads worth of lettuce lol.
The lettuce that came with mine was "cut and come again". If cut correctly you can get a few salads worth of lettuce from them. Thing that sucks is that only about 50% of the seeds are gonna grow.
I got one of these earlier this year. It's so easy to set up. It's not ready to eat yet, but everything has sprouted and is growing.
I like it so well, I got in on a second pink slim from the aerogarden site on Tuesday.
I got the larger version of this for Christmas. I like to cook and use a lot of herbs. My only bit of advice: DO NOT PLANT DILL OR MINT
You'll have a jungle of both, and there's only so much you can use them for LOL. The herbs I actually want (basil, parsley, thyme, rosemary) aren't moving very much because the mint and dill are running the show.

Other than parsley and cilantro, this isn't really true (for me at least). I use quite a bit of herbs, and a small pack of thyme for instance is $3 around here. Same with rosemary and basil. I can use $10 worth of basil easily making sauce one time. The herb garden has made things a lot more convenient for me.
For me it make sense to just grow it outside and let mother nature take care of it. You already pay for your lawn, might as well put it to good use instead of the useless "grass".
Or just go to the grocery store and buy it and save money on this stupid kit.

You should reach out to support if they don't grow and they'll send you new pods.
Has anyone tried to grow hot peppers in this thing? Any luck? Any tips?
I grew some shishito peppers, single plant in the harvest and it grew really well and was extremely productive.. I counted 25-30 peppers on it at a time. The height was limiting and made it very time consuming to keep pruning it so I'd actually suggest the bounty if you want to grow peppers, you could probably grow 2-3 in that. Remember to cut the top off to limit it's growth after it has 4-5 nodes. That gets it to grow more branches and produce more peppers.

Only black is on sale for $79, other colors are $99. Coupon doesn't seem to reduce the white or gray color to $69.95

How much power does this thing use anyway?
It can't when they don't exist. Self-sufficiency wins, and dependency is potentially starvation.
