YMMV, obviously, but I ordered two of these and both are unlocked. I have not yet activated the Boost lines that came with these.

Note that one has a 3rd party battery, as I got the warning, and the other has battery health of 83%. I'm guessing they replace the battery if health is less than 80%.

I don't think there was a color option; both phones I got are black.

I set up both phones on wi-fi before inserting a sim card and checked the sim status in the settings. Then I inserted a non-Boost sim to test. I tested with Cricket and Mint sims and both worked fine.

The bodies of each had minor scuffs and scratches, with the screens in very good condition. Screens also appeared to be original, as the "true tone" option is available on both. Face ID worked fine on both as well.

They came in plain white boxes with a Boost sticker on top and had an OEM usb-a lightning cable with a generic charging brick. (if it's not an OEM cable, it sure looks and feels like one)

$100 is a killer deal for a used, unlocked iPhone Xr, and this one includes 3 months of coverage.

Metro deal requires porting over from another carrier, also need to go to store can't order online, and most stores add extra fees like activation/tax on original price, meanwhile this deal can be ordered online, includes 3 months of service, and you don't need to port

But can't track it with UPS as it should be able to track already. That makes me worry.
jsit means they generated a label and requested ups to pick it up and since it's late in the day likely won't happen till tomorrow till ups receives it

I am the biggest fool in the world. A couple of hours ago I read that someone successfully replicated the $25 price so I went back to order one. Everything was smooth and my checkout page was $26.74 and I paid by PayPal. Order completed successfully but to my surprise I was charged $229.33 instead. I hurried to chat to try to convince them to cancel my order but they said they are not allowed to. Feel free to laugh at me. I am so sad😞

Don't chat. Call. I made a similar mistake (not as big, i ended up buying just the sim car for $41) - somehow the phone got dropped off the order and i thought i am getting the full deal.

Anyways, chat was useless. I called in. Due to the wait i selected the 'call me back' feature and that worked well. On chat they took 30 mins gathering unnecessary info and then did cancel the order.

My order had no phone so its a bit different but worst case you can reject delivery OR return the order. Finally, do a chargeback on Paypal and if that doesnt work on your CC..

You have quite a few options..

I didn't take a screenshot of the checkout page and since the loophole has been fixed it can't be replicated.

whom forced 12 months unlocked policy LMAO

pstt. still using Iphone 7 :-D...
Notice that the operating system updates are getting worse for 7 plus so if Apple makes you upgrade and it's unlocked and I can use it for Consumer Cellular then I will check it out because I don't want to spend 1000.00 to keep using an iPhone

How does that even happen? You were given the final price at checkout, but were charged a different amount?

Just being curious:
What next that you guys plan to do with your XR phone?
I'm not using any Apple products but I plan to use it to trade in for a Samsung or Pixel phone.
be careful with trading.
I was in a pixel 7 thread and someone said these are foreign xr's based on the model number

mt302LL

apparently Best Buy doesn't accept that model number...I am not 100% sure though
just passing along what I read in another thread

I think because the price changed or loophole fixed while I was at the checkout page but the page didn't reflect that. There was few minutes delay at the checkout page could be why.

FYI, boost mobile makes it incredibly hard to port out. They will make you call to get your account number, and most of the times you would need to be on hold for upwards of an hour. Then you also need to make sure you have active service at the time of port out and have details of your usage, such as call logs/message logs from the Boost phone number for verification. They say this is for "security", but it is honestly to tire you out and give up.
My experience was totally different. My phone was suspended for non-payment and I called boost and got to the retentions dept and told them I'm switching because at 35GB of usage the phone data slows down to dial up speeds. Other than providing my name and my pin on the account the rep gave me my account number as well as a temporary port out password and other than the few minutes of hold time to get to the rep everything went smoothly and I went to metro and told the dude it has been suspended for a few days and he said it will still go through and sure enough the port took a few minutes and it was over and done with. How you speak to these people makes an increadable difference sometimes.

Now it says return to sender requested!!
Anyone else showing return to sender for their orders ($50)?

$50 order just generated UPS tracking number.

Fingers crossed the quality of the device.

I set it up for a "port" and I'm just not going to do anything assuming they will have no way/reason to charge me for month 2 (the $40 plan) if I don't activate.

We will see if this becomes a PITA for all of us in 30 days! ;-)
