Hi, I know you're new so it's ok but in general it's frowned upon to call or email about things like that because it alerts stores and staff and increases the likelihood of cancellation. Because of how much this deal blew up it doesn't really matter as they certainly know but just wanted to drop a friendly note about it.

How is it BS? Because of the language? Okay, broken English. Look, we all knew this was a pricing mistake and expected cancellations but took part just in case. Some were able to use BB to their advantage and get the deal. For those who didn't, if we get cancellations, it's part of playing the game.
I also expect it to be canceled. I also ordered from TD. I'm still waiting for an update. But people here are posting BS. Customer service usually have canned responses that is provided by management. There's no broken English.

yeah, all these people thinking they'll get charged again for something that's already shipped Crazy
That's not what they are talking about. Some people purchased through Best Buy chat and were "supposed" to get a refund for the price match difference . That gets submitted to someone to process . As noted by others in this thread by the time it gets to processing that division is saying the iPad is out of stock (at TD) and can not complete the refund for the price match … even though some people have already received their iPads ( same day delivery, store pickup, etc. )

My credit card is now showing a pending charge with the reduced price for my Best Buy order. My order was made 9:47AM PST after chatting with BB. It'll be sent through OnTrac.

But there are a bunch of people who picked theirs up from BB with the advanced PM or had them shipped and received them. Those people didn't waste their time, they saved hundreds of dollars on something they wanted for like 5-10 minutes of work. Huge win for quite a few people and many others who didn't comment got in on this deal. You're laughing at nothing really.

And if you're laughing at the TD people. Who cares? The "time wasted" was like 5 minutes for those who aren't living in this thread providing updates or looking for them. It's negligible.

This.

This is exactly what I did. I saw this deal. Purchased through TD knowing it probably wouldn't ship. At the same time, I got on my computer and did a chat with BB agent who generated an order for me to pay at the matched price. Ordered and picked up at Best Buy in the span of 30 minutes.

While I was there, I picked up their remaining iPad and had the manager price patch it as well. At first he said they don't price match TD and then I showed him the Best Buy price match and then he gave me the matched price. Certainly worth the effort on my part. If the TD order ships, awesome, but let's be real, it most likely won't.

Cool, have fun missing out on the only deals that really matter on this site. I've had like a dozen major price mistakes from various retailers (excluding the 20-30 from Amazon alone) ship to me over the years including some where I saved hundreds over what I would have paid at any other retailer at the time. Yes there are some retailers who are notorious for cancellations, and TD is among them, but the effort needed relative to the potential payoff is asymmetrically in the consumer's favor. And any consumer win in this day and age is a win for society on the whole.

It's just a farking iPad. Not like this is a touchpad or anything to get excited about.

How deep does your enjoyment of other people wasting time go? Do you laugh at people who buy lottery tickets with miniscule chances to win? What about cancer patients that undergo chemo even if it only has a 5% chance of success? Where's the line?

The TD now has NOTHING to do with the TD of 5-7 years ago. It's owned by a completely different entity.

Lol, how is a price mistake a win for the society!! Consumer protection and price mistake are two different things. Retailers should be able to cancel orders when things go wrong. The employees of TD, who are a part of this society need to be paid my friend. Wages do not increase when retailers are selling at tight margins.
