1TB Endurance: 320 TBW , not bad
Does endurance mean a lot more writes than other drives?

Does anyone know if this would work on a PS5?

Yes reviewers on Amazon tested and using it on PS5 without any problem, some also listed the Game titles they tested on..looks v positive at a budget.

Can this be installed on a desktop PC? My kiddo is collecting components to build one.

Meh...price is decent for what you are getting....except you can spend $10-15 and get something a lot better. That's a pass for me.

yes, ALL ssd drives have limited number of writes into each "cell". all cells combined are usually represented by that "endurance" metric.
better drives can handle more writes because they use better types of flash (SLC/DLC/TLC/QLC best to worst) and better and smarter controllers which ensure that writes happen over the whole drive evenly rather than a few hot spots which will get worn out faster.

Thank you. Can you tell me the ranking of controllers?

Very slow speeds for a PCI 4.0 NVME drive. I have the 512GB version that came stock on a new computer, replaced it immediately with one that can do 2x the speed for about $30 more for a noticeable difference.

Just a quick search on SD shows a (DRAMless) WD BLACK SN770 for $70 with 1.5 the speed, and a Kingston KC3000 for $80 with double the speed. And $100 should get you a top consumer grade 1TB drive that is faster yet.

Not recommended unless SSD speed is not particularly important to your use case. $50 is a fair price point for what it is... which isn't a very fast SSD.

I could probably see myself using this to store my Steam Library or have it installed in an external enclosure.

$50 for 1TB is awesome. Too bad I don't tax any of my smaller drives. Linux just doesn't seem to need nearly as much space as windows. Still want one though. 😂
Just install steam and a few games and you'll get there.

Any idea if this should work with any PCIe 3.0 laptop?
I am wondering if I'd better off using this Kingston NV2 Gen4 vs WD Blue SN570 Gen3 with a laptop only supporting PCIe 3.0.

Thanks

My Linux notebooks aren't really great for gaming. I link to the Windows desktop for that.
