Digital PS5 makes you have to rebuy any PS4 games you want to play.

Yes, the digital version will struggle to play disks.

Just got Stray in the mail the other day, was thinking of buying it on digital because it was so highly rated, it was $30 on the PlayStation store and $30 for the disk on eBay….so far I'm not impressed, I will give it another hour or two but so glad I can turn around and sell it on eBay and get my money back if I don't like it…..digital games should be much cheaper than physical, but until people stop buying so many they will continue to be the same price as physical
Nobody is going to stop buying digital games. Wasting my time changing discs, worrying about scratches and damage, and then wasting more time trying to sell or trade it in for pennies on the dollar most of the time. Unless you have to buy every new release on day one and then are selling it within 2 weeks, digital is just better. Follows me to any console I play on, don't need to bring the disc with me between rooms or even different houses in some cases.

"I bought a PS5 digital version last year. Sometimes I see physical games that are cheaper than the digital version, but those are games I'm not seriously interested in and would end up on a backlog. So I actually saved money by having the digital version. In the case of God of War Ragnarok, I see so many download code deals on SD ($45-55), but none for the physical disk (PS5 version only)."

The above experience couldn't be further from the truth.

Digital console has it benefits; staying financially discipline.

This!

Plus, digital console owner had already learned to be mindful of their spendings.

Resale value on PS5 digital console is still good as the gamers have accepted them unlike 2010 era.

Digital games generally have already gotten cheaper from time to time throughout the year.

Blame Sony for not having a reoccurring digital sale. Same for Nintendo. Xbox on the other hand has thanks to GPU.

In for one - bought the digital God of War edition. Need it for my channel and tv/monitor testing. I don't have a PS4 library to play so it made sense.

LMAO. That... is not how it works. I still have digital Xbox 360 games on my Series X. My Xbox live membership has expired many times over the years, and I have had numerous credit cards expire. They don't take your games. Playstation does not do this either.

All you chads are on the rock. Over 70% of all console games sold are digital, not physical. If this was an actual problem, it would be all over the place. Hint: It's not.

I haven't been paying attention, but my nephew is asking for one of these. Are the inventory issues still a problem or are those behind us now? I still have a few months before I need to purchase.
Stock has been a lot better these days, but by no means are you guaranteed to see one on a store shelf anywhere you go. I would purchase one sooner than later just in case. I would also verify if your nephew wants a digital edition or disc edition.

I mean, I've got a 6700XT and a 13600K. The only reason I don't buy a 4090 is that I'm trying to not game for a few years, and the availability is not there without having to jump through hoops.

This is a great deal, if you don't already have a HTPC. It really depends on your use case and needs. Consoles offer much more value than gaming PCs, but lack raw power, but to get that power you are going to fork out cash, a lot of cash.
