This service is very oversold in many markets. I am on it currently, and it went completely to pot after the $25 promo in December. If I had any other option, I would jump at it, this service is so unreliable I have to use my phone much of the time. If you are lucky, this could be a great budget option, but most are going to be in internet hell! Rant over...😄

FWIW, I switched to this service in December to take advantage of the $25/mo offer. I've been very impressed by the speed and reliability. Speed Test results are typically around 600 down and about 300 up, but it goes without saying that your results will most definitely vary by location/market, time of day, router placement, etc. I'm fairly sure you have a trial period (and there's no contract anyway), so it's a low or no risk option to try it out.

I have been a TMHI customer for a year and a half, and the last 3 months have been miserable. I am located in Central Florida. For more input from other users you can check out the TMHI subreddit, many are having the same issues I am. https://www.reddit.com/r/tmobileisp/#sort=new

Are we able to switch to the new gateway? My service has been good but the last week or so it's been spotty. Lost connection a few times and the only way to get it back was to unplug and plug back in the gateway. Wasn't awesome when I was leading a teams meeting.
If you are using a Nokia(trashcan) gateway, use the 120 mm USB fan to cool it down, because it restart it self a few times a day, without extra cooling.
I had that problem before,but with a 120mm fan-no problem.
But yes,we should be able to switch the gateway with t-mobile.I bought a Nokia gateway off ebay for $25,because it works better(faster) then Arcadyan at my location.

Yes, as long as you return your old gateway.

Tmobile is very customer friendly - since gateways are not like physical cellphones we can swap them.

My 2 cents. I tried the service. I live in the valley, Southern California and it was just not stable enough. Non peaks time I would average between 25-40 Mps but peak times after 6pm - 10pm it would be single digits Frown The good news is that since I left Spectrum I was able to get back in for $39 a month for 2 years by letting them know about T-Mobile's rates. Its a shame because T Mobile is very easy to deal with. Maybe in a few years the network will be more robust?

That's how post paid service works. They check your credit because they charge you after you used the service for a month. You don't pay anything up front. Plus in this case they lend you the modem/router for free.

Get a prepaid service if you want to avoid a credit check. Metro 5g home internet is the exact same thing at t-mobile 5g home internet but is prepaid. There's no credit checks but you have to buy the modem and pay for the first month up front.

No. I want them to not store PII for service where there is no contract. Paying 30 days before or 30 days after doesn't matter after the first 30 days.

Tmo's nonchalant and poor handling of PII hack after hack is a problem that they need to be held accountable for.

Verizon's version of 5g home internet may be better in certain areas of socal. Might not be as oversold since I've seen very little advertising for it.

Been trying the Verizon version out for about 2 months now. The max speeds are capped at 300 Mbps down and 20 Mbps up. During the entire day I usually get around 200-250 Mbps down and 10-15 Mbps up. Very late at night I get the full 300 and 20.

For T-Mobile if you are lucky and live in an area with a very good signal and no congestion you can get much higher speeds. Seen some people get close to 1 Gbps down and almost 100 Mbps up.

I posted before, but I'm 7 miles from the end of a rural fiber line, the closest fiber, not from my servicing area, it's run several miles out of a village (around 100 population). It's 50Mbps, and it's a flat fee plus pay by the GB used, no unlimited plan.

Just got "unlimited" myself in late '18 for the first time. Had 200GB before that on cell at about 3Mbps, and 7.5GB before that on satellite/0.5Mbps. Dialup wasn't unlimited either, 30 hours/month, unlimited services were long distance, dialup until '06, then the satellite.

Tmo and the setup I posted is working pretty solid. Think I might knock over a few more trees when I get time, should get a little better.

The other discussion is one consideration I have for service. I also don't like a credit check just for service, I think it's, silly, if I paid for my own equipment. Don't see much point in running credit unless I'm buying something big. Metro home is prepaid, and I could make it work in my router, but you can only sign up for it in the store, and that would be a 300 mile total trip.

Ofcourse argued for an hour with customer service and removed the charge, they keep arguing with me that i need pay,i asked simple questions to them
You didn't send me full equipment with sim
Didn't activated device,no account got created
Returned in two days
Came out of t-mobile in 2017,thought they changed and improved lol seems its worst now

I was on Google Fiber 500 GB per month for $55 a month promo, then I went to cancel and they offered me a 100 GB for $30, so I jumped on it, just me so no issues at all. If you use a lot then it won't be worth it to you.

Quality enough for streaming and gaming if you use a, router to play warzone 2.

Just checked in an account that has 3 kickstart lines, 1 free, and the $25 tmhi4L they offered me $40 a month for this deal. Considering it since I'm paying $65 for myself but I know it'll take a big cut in reliability in exchange for saving $20 a month. Would prefer if they'd let me add another $25 line 🤣 or even the $30. At $40 it's like $20 more gets me speed and reliability.

That being said again the thing has worked perfect for 1-2 devices to stream and use apps in the RV
