I paid only one month of service, and let it sit in the box. It's automatically unlocked 180 days later.

Am I the only one terrified of going into a metro store. Have read so many horror stories of mangers making up their own rules (requiring insurance, buying cases, requiring 3 months of service)

Is there any way to spook the people at the store by calling corporate while in store or anything?

Called a bunch of their stores to see if its{iPhone 11} in stock and if I can get it for free as the site states by bringing my own number, they said no, I asked how much will it cost then - they said $200+.
No thanks.

If it will be free on the website w/ "bring your own number" - then I'll order, willl not be going to the store.

Might do it again since it's been a while since I've done it. Wished it was the 12, wondering whether or not that 2 phones per household actually stands in the terms since last time I was able to get 2 iPhones and 2 free 5g androids with a similar offer.

Hard to say. My wife and I went in for the promo they had about 8 months or so ago, and we "each" got two, but I forget if we used the same address or not. 🤦🏻 ♂️

I purchased two last April. You specifically have to go into a corporate store/authorized dealer in order to get this promotion/rebate. My store did not charge any additional fees and I easily declined the insurance that was offered.

I did call the store in advance to see if they even had the 11 in stock as at that time, they were in short supply.

No. Have to wait the 180 days until it gets unlocked.

🤔I don't get how that works? How do you know if it's unlocked? If it's not, what is your recourse since you didn't have active service for the last 5 months?
Do you have documentation that supports this? I'd like to read "the fine print" no other carrier will let you get a phone locked that hasn't had service for the minimum amount of time.
iOS has the sim lock status in the settings

Could you share where? I'm actually on my iPhone 11 I got last time and it should be unlocked but I don't see that by searching settings for sim.

ETA is that the carrier lock in general/about?
Mine says no sim restrictions? Is that what it should say if it's unlocked?
