I paid only one month of service, and let it sit in the box. It's automatically unlocked 180 days later.

Am I the only one terrified of going into a metro store. Have read so many horror stories of mangers making up their own rules (requiring insurance, buying cases, requiring 3 months of service)

Southern California here. Went to 2 corporate stores. Called 4.
My 2 local corporate stores:
First one, went in, didn't have any in stock apparently.
Second one they had in stock but wouldn't give me at the deal price even when I showed them the webpage. I'm filing a FCC complaint against them, not sure if this does anything though.

I called 4 other corporate stores that are kinda a further drive away and they all said they had none in stock, which I think was a lie they just didn't want to sell at the promotional price.

Anyway the Metro nightmare is consistent with what others are reporting
Save yourself the headache and just do the Boost online deal.
which one is the second store? IMO yelp and google reviews matter to them more

thx for the report. saved me tons of time

Nope here's my receipt as proof. What does the special $17 service fee consist of?

That's interesting; you have two phones but were charged different service charge, $60 and $30. For me, it is $76 which I figured $60+ BS $17 for insurance.

If you get a second line its only $30. Sort of like a family plan discount. That's why i got 2 iphone 11s. Its cheaper per iphone 11 if u get 2. Also since I got in on 2 of the $23 boost mobile iphone XR refurb deals, why not try and port them to metro and get another 2 more cheap iphone 11s. It worked for me.

One line of service is $60. Two lines are $90 so it seems Metro breaks it out as $60 and $30 instead of $45 each.

I was able to port it in, but still waiting for the port to go through. Sorry for the slow update but I'm still not there yet.

And if you want 2 iphones on 2 lines, they will say only 1 per member.
I felt the same experience.

A few folks in this thread have successfully ported in their Google Voice numbers. I also asked a Metro store to check if my GV number would qualify for the promo (without actually telling them that it was an GV number) and after checking in their system they confirmed that it would.
I called store and they said GV will not work and we will not be able to use it avail offer

Thanks for the update. So it sounds like you were able to get the deal and are just waiting for the port-in to finish so that you can use your new phone?

Next time ask them to check whether the number qualifies.

You don't understand the whole point into getting the iphone 11. Its for trade in purposes only to really get the whole value for them, Nobody is really holding these for 6 months to unlock then flip when phone companies give you $800 to $1000 during trade in promos. They don't care if its unlocked or locked for trade in purposes. I traded in 2 locked iphone 11;s before to sprint and got $800 each for them to upgrade to iphone 13 pro max's and got to stay on my cheap $40 unlimited plan for 3 lines. Yes 3 lines for $40 all in including the taxes with auto pay.
I understand some people get the iP11 for trade in. I have done a few myself. The poster I was replying to was asking about getting the iP11 to use. I personally think the iP11 is still a perfectly serviceable phone, even though it lacks 4G.
