I paid only one month of service, and let it sit in the box. It's automatically unlocked 180 days later.

Am I the only one terrified of going into a metro store. Have read so many horror stories of mangers making up their own rules (requiring insurance, buying cases, requiring 3 months of service)

Would you rather, go into a metro store and try and get this deal, or bang your head against the wall for 2hours ?
Is it a cement wall? Oh, never mind, I choose the wall.

For porting over a Google Voice number, do we use the 10 digit phone number as the account number?

The store that I was at would not use the phone number as the account number Frown

They actually don't need to know which carrier it is in order to check.

Yes, for GV the account number is just the 10 digit phone number. You'll also need to set a PIN on your voicemail before you can do the transfer. See instructions here: https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=161668429&postcount=246

Seriously I feel that once people go to one store and get rejected they become restless and come here to cry about it. I have never complained about a deal not going thru. Either go to another store or move on to the next deal. Everyday more and more deals pop up. You won't get every deal, that's just facts. Learn to play the game as it's all a game to me and I play to win.

When porting from from Google Voice, does the name and address on the Google account need to match that of the Metro account?

I know for the Boost port the account must match as that's what i was told before they started the port. I can't confirm or deny the validity to it as it was hearsay by the metro employee. YMMV.

yea, I was rejected twice by the same Metro store when i tried to get the $100 and the $50 iphone 11 before. But I was successful this time with this free iphone 11. I'm glad they rejected me before.

See persistence pays off. Also even if your rejected at the store don't complain and say your going to report them to the FCC or whatever. It leaves them with a bad taste and they will remember you for saying it. Just leave politely while killing them with your kindness. They may feel bad about it and do it for you next go around like what happened for you. One example of this was the price mistake at TD for the mac books. I placed the orders knowingly that it would get cancelled as they was notorious for cancelling PMs. I also did one more thing besides crying about it. I went to other retailers to try to get a PM and got 2 mac book pros PMing TD price even thought MC didn't have the same mac book on hand. They PMed me with a better model as being loyal to them when all i go there to buy is on sale items or PM items. I was polite and courteous to the sales rep. They went and got the PM for me and my wife to a better model mac book pro. Hope this teaches some of you on how to navigate rejections or handle PMs in the future.

That would make sense. I'm wondering how it works with folks buying numbers on certain websites to port-in - when you buy one of these numbers do they give you the actual account info?

Cool story even though I don't understand some of the acronyms (TD, MC).
