Metro allows their phones to be unlocked after ~180 days. Some Metro phones work with T-Mobile out of the box, though I'm not sure if that's the case with this specific phone.
Do i have activate $50 plan for 6 months?

For people trying to decide moto vs A23. I am getting A23 because Samsung DEX. This feature let you use the phone as a desktop which fit in your pocket.

Arrrrrg just checked. A23 don't have DEX. Bummer

After activate, can I take the SIM card out and use it in another unlocked phone? Does the SIM card have to be used in the Metro phone it comes with? Thanks

Has anyone tried putting in their tmobile sim after 1 month (when the service expires)? For this phone and the Moto G stylus 5G? Would prefer not to wait 6 months for it to unlock.

So it doesn't matter if we keep the sim with the phone or not? I think I'll use it as a wifi app/music player in the meanwhile. Is it ok just to not mess with the sim at all?

I leave the SIM card in the phone as is. It just says Emergency calls only after the first month. It's easier not to lose the SIM card if I know it's in the phone.
