The AF55 looks really nice. IF I had the $$$$ I would buy it on the looks alone, because I actually do buy guitars solely on their aesthetics. If it came with a case, I'd buy it.

Yes, I have the TMB100 in blue for which I paid the same price. I'm not a bassist, but I've used it for some bedroom recording.

I think it's excellent for the price, I really like the satin neck. It feels better than any Squier bass I've held in stores. The offset body is also quite comfortable for me when sitting. While I'm constantly buying guitars, I don't feel tempted to buy any bass other than this (obviously because I play my guitars much more often, but this is more than enough for my needs).

I borrowed for a couple of weeks an AS53 in the same finish. It felt like a perfectly adequate guitar, but nothing special. The satin body finish was a novelty. I'd rather get a used 7x (i.e. AS73) for a similar price, that feels like a true step up over this 5x series.

Indonesia. I couldn't find out if they're manufacturered by Cort/Cor-tek, a different contract manufacturer, or by an Ibanez-owned factory.

I got the same bass for Christmas. Only played some guitar years ago. Feels great but I need to get a setup for it because the strings buzz really bad out of the box. Otherwise it's great.

The yellow brightness is a lot more muted than the pictures show but it still looks good.

How high is the PF15ECE string to the fretboard? I like lower so it won't give me a strain when playing.
