These really don't do any cleaning. They just provide a pleasant scent after flushing. I don't understand how they got away with marketing as a cleaner

That is not what he is pointing out. There really is quite a bit of plastic hitting the landfill for a product like this. I'm not "that guy" and I buy these but the comment is correct.

$3 for the package, $0.75 for the product. Simple math.

I have tried these gel things before. My toilet actually got more dirty then without.

I put 2 in one toilet and zero in the other to test and sure enough the one with got more dirty. The gel even turned black after a while.

Maybe these are good for those with hard water or something? But they are next to worthless for cleaning.

There's a version of this by scrubbing bubbles where it's a tube that you squish out a specific amount of gel. And you can buy refills. It felt like much less plastic than this. And yes, they both can turn black and sometimes yellow if you have kids that like to aim at the colored circle

yeah I'm torn because we like their mango one, but as many pointed out, there's a lot of plastic waste in this particular design of product that I stopped buying them.

It's amazing if you can get it to stick and last more than a week.

These don't do any cleaning at all.
The bleach tablets are really good at cleaning but they are harmful for the flush parts and mechanism.

That's probably more plastic than even these. They all come with the 2 big plastic rods, one with product and the other applicator.

I would be fine with the plastic since I recycle diligently if the gel pods would do the cleaning on every flush as they claim. But there is no cleaning whatsoever. Just pleasant smell for about 2 days after application.

I completely agree... They don't clean at all IMO.. Even the smell is only for the first 2 days after application. Can't smell anything after that.

I wonder why some company does not design a true cleaner, disinfectant for every flush. The Clorox tablets are very good at cleaning but not good for the flush.

Danger! These are toilet cloggers! Just had to take a toilet off to get one out. Similar to it.

These are useless n won't do a thing as well as the smell doesn't last more than 2 days

Stop believing the lie, almost no plastic is actually recycled (less than 10%): https://www.npr.org/2020/09/11/89...e-recycled

Use less is the only solution.
