While the flights have been cheap, the hotel prices are insane (600/night++) caveat emptor and all that.

You cannot camp on the beaches. There are plenty of campgrounds on Maui and a couple have bungalows to rent in addition to camp sites. If camping, highly suggest staying a couple nights in Hana, the campground is next to the 7 sacred pools and can walk to a black sand beach.

going to LA for speing break with family for a week and we been to LA numerous times so wondering if its worth detouring 3 nights to hawaii?
Yes. Oahu is more crowded but you can find really good deals on hotels. Kaui is very chill / nature-like, Maui is kinda combination.

With the spring break prices I would just go to Huntington Beach & call it a day.
Lots of homeless now have taken up residence in Huntington Beach.

I need to fly to Hawaii in late July. Could anyone please let me know if the air ticket prices (to Hawaii) in July would be much more expensive than in May? Thanks!
Wherever there is no school the price is usually higher if not the highest.

Camping is generally not recommended or at least not free in most of Maui. If you look like a tourist they might kick you out, not sure they'll bother you if you genuinely look homeless.

During covid there was no camping permitted anywhere. Not entirely sure what covid had to do with anything. I was solo camping there one night at the time and the police woke me up at midnight due to covid restrictions. Pre-covid I was able to get away with doing it in certain areas on beach for 4 nights.

Hotels are ridiculous apparently, but last time I was there rental cars had shot way up too. Like triple the cost as the previous year.

like everyone said, look for your hotel first. I booked the last Maui deal and got a great deal on the flight but the hotel prices are totally insane and hard to find a good deal. One of the issues is the local taxes are so high it adds like 25% on top of everything.

LOL...where do you people come up with these figures???

Quick search on Expedia for April 18 (one of the dates in this deal) starts at $110 per night in Maui, restricting to true hotels (not rentals) still is under $200 per night and within walking distance to the beach.

"600+++ per night"....guess that includes a rental car, room service, and hookers LMAOLMAOLMAO

Anyone know how long it takes to get a companion pass after signing up for the SW credit card?
