Return that LG and get the HP. The HP is an IPS panel compared to the low end VG panel on the LG.

I'm trying to find a monitor that supports HDMI 2.1 for my ps5. All the deals here I can't seem to find HDMI 2.1. it is worth waiting these monitors enough for ps5 games like Hogwarts legacy
You won't find it by looking at 1440p monitors as it's not needed at this resolution. 4K monitors is where you might see the 2.1 port. 4K with high refresh rate is not going to be cheap tho.

This looks like a good deal, but I really wish it came with more inputs. A second DP or USB-c video input would be nice.
I really want to buy it but this is the main reason I'm not buying one. Monoprice's 32" IPS 1440p has 2 HDMI and 2 DP. I bought it last time when it was on sale for $200. It works with everything except PS5, so I had to return it. I'm looking for another with the same or more amount of inputs.

This is a premium monitor, uses an LG panel, I got one one last month and it's incredible. Just bought another for my son, I got him the Monoprice deal just a couple weeks ago, a 32" va 1440p curved but they sent me a spool of cable instead of the monitor so it must have been a sign that the Monoprice was a POS with only 200nits anyways, this one peaks at about 425nits, not the brightest but get's the job done for 95% of content, it can't get to full HDR levels but does pretty good, for the price you can't go wrong.

Got one open box fair condition with full accessories for $169+tax. Very good monitor and color is good too .93% DCPI3 not bad.
This is a great price point I'd like to be at. Right now I'm seeing $197 for open box excellent. I was hoping dell would have something because I've got some dell bucks + AMEX 20% off + often see an extra 10% from that sweet CB. I missed the Dell 24.5" Dell S2522HG $150 deal, that would have been around a $100 for me. That's a 1080p but there was a lot of love in the thread for it. I'm using my monitor for casual PC playing off my galaxy book2 and also my newly ordered series X (thanks to the Verizon $150 deal)

You have much higher ppi in your 27" 1440... The ppi for this maybe closer to a 24" 1080p.... Which in turn is still better ppi than the 27" 1080...

It will look better than your 1080p but not as good as your 1440p.
I use this for office work. Text looks perfectly fine.

Before I bought the monitor 3 days ago from the floor rep at Costco who also had it wrong until he went to go check and confirmed I was correct.
Both he and you are wrong. It's 90 days

They use either LG or BOE panel. Most I've seen recently have been BOE. The 3 I've purchased the past 60 days have been BOE 121 panels. A 4th is coming by the 7th, we'll see what panel that has.

Oh I had no idea, when I saw some reviews for it they were specifying an LG panel, how do you tell which one it has?

Turn off the power, hold the top button and power on. Release the top button, the menu will show a service menu option and will show BOE or not

I ended up biting on this even though it was a bit bigger than what I wanted (I think) and also a bit more than I wanted to spend. But I got in on the XBOX Series S Verizon deal so I wanted to get a monitor asap to start using the console.

This week I do see that Best Buy has the 27" HP 27mq on sale for $199 [bestbuy.com]which is IPS and 1440 but I'm not sure how much that differs. It's pretty close in price but should I be able to get a mid tier open box, that's at around $150 which is around the range I wanted to be in.

Next things to figure out are 1) The sound bar I want to get for use with this. I'm thinking the Razer Leviathan. And 2) I'm looking for a mount and bedroom table that I can mount to - something like this [wayfair.com].

I want to have this setup upstairs in the guest room for casual quick play. My PS5's in the basement w/ the big 4k TV and surround sound system setup for more involved playing.
