these are fine for a simple project like adding some colored lights to your headboard for video streaming in your bedroom. but if you want something more expandable/customizable/versitile, go with sk6811 and esp8266

The prices are actually significantly lower than Govee lights have been historically. Govee has the best app for strip lights. I have the RGBIC strips and they have a big community of users on the app who make new routines for the lights and share them, so you can use any of those or make your own routines with pretty sophisticated options. I've had a ton of strip lights from different manufacturers and theirs is the only app anywhere near as good, so I started paying the premium for Govee for that reason,
The individual color (IC) is being thrown on this product for people to be wowed and miss the fact that the light density is terrible and will create hotspots everywhere, leaving you disappointed.

I'd rather buy a dumb string of white lights with a minimum 60 LEDs/M than an RGBIC with 18/M; where a diffuser couldn't even save you.

Which brand of strip lights similar to these, would be best for a staircase, and controlled by a 120Volt light switch on the wall? And I need 28 -30 feet per each side of the staircase. And I hope there will be a deal alert created for just the type I seek! {hint, hint}

Some of the Govee's can only show one color at a time, so make sure you check before you order.

I have a studio apartment and the 65'.6 strip wraps around the whole base board of my apartment. I also got the Dream View with light bars and 4 Govee 1200 Lumens smart bulbs. They work pretty well in Dream View mode. Takes a minute to sync when I turn it on but all the lights work well together especially in the video color capture mode. I also put the LED strip in light diffusers they sell on Amazon which makes it look a lot more clean than the bare LEDs stuck on with 2 way tape. Google Home and Alexa integration makes controlling, and setting timers really easy. Definitely worth the money and I would feel like something is missing without my Govee system.
I'm about to get the Immersion T2 Govee lights also, I have a small but decent sized room, do the additional lights add to the aesthetics and immersion of everything? Also how bright are the RGB lights on the 1200 bulbs?

I'm assuming you're stating this because you feel these cannot be controlled locally. However, the model (H6154) listed in this post might be capable of local control.

I cannot guarantee is has local control ability, but according to a list of supported local control LAN ability lights for Govee, it lists the model (H6154) as a model that should have LAN support.

If this does have LAN support, it can be activated in Govee's app and with Home Assistant, you can install a Govee LAN Control integration via HAC which should be capable of controlling the lights locally.

If anyone is planning on buying a Govee light strip to see if can be controlled via you LAN, make sure to check the model number with the list I link below to see if has LAN support ability.

I'm almost tempted to buy this just to see if it has LAN control.

My model is listed here but I cannot get the LAN control option to show up on the Android app for some reason
