FYI, you can buy this model from Apple refurb for $1539 with warranty.
But for $10 more you can buy it NEW with 2 years of warranty from Costco. I don't understand your comment.

Wait so I'm confused. You're saying m1 & m2 14" pros are basically equal?
The M2 Pro is using fewer chips so less overall throughput to the disk until you step up to 1TB. For the M2 (not pro) you need to go to 512GB. The SSD speed is slower on the M2 Pro, but you're unlikely to notice in real world use. These were sequential read/write benchmarks which are unlikely to mirror real day-to-day workloads.

The M2 Pro is still is faster CPU, more energy efficient and has a few upgraded features, specifically I believe upgraded HDMI/Video output and Bluetooth.

Hoping to see this for $1400 at some point. Idk how desperate apple will get and let these retailers drop prices but this is almost the lowest it has been (sans price mistakes).

A 16inch M1 at $1799 would be a cop.

Unlikely, stock is running out. The 16" M1 this morning for $1999 sold out by the afternoon.

Why would they drop it to 1400 if it's selling out at 1549

You're unlikely to have issues. Yes it's slower, no you probably won't notice it unless you happen to do a lot of sequential throughput,
Correct. The reads/writes on the single chips are only slower for sequential processes. 80%+ of reads/writes are random, where the drives are the same in performance, so there is no performance loss in the real world unless your goal is synthetic benchmarking; the new drives are not a loss in performance.

I think he posted the apple refurb price as an option to this deal since it's OOS.

Apple refurbs are like new, come with the same 1 year warranty as new and you can also add applecare + to them. Also, some credit cards will offer extended warranties on refurbs if they were refurbished by the original manufacturer (apple would qualify).

I had bought this deal at listed 1549.00 price. It's brand new in a box. I choose to get 16 inch MacBook Pro, so I no longer need 14inch and planning to return it Costco.

If somebody interested for local pick up from Atlanta area, please private message me otherwise I'm going to return it to Costco.
