Some of them are just people who don't know how to use a ultra short throw projector. One guy said projector sucks but was projecting on a wall and not a screen. Check out the reviews on projector central and projector screen reviews
It will look fine, but the challenge is mounting it perfectly so you don't have to use keystone correction. It's difficult enough siting on a console. You need to find a ceiling mount that has precise adjustability in all three axis. You'll need to flip the ALR screen also since UST ALR screens are designed to reject light from above. Plus you need to run wires down from the ceiling which defeats one of the advantages of a UST.

TL;DR It's doable but requires a lot of work. If your room allows for it go with a short throw (non-ultra) or standard throw.
This hasn't been funny in 10 years. Time to let it die.

Not sure if its a dumb question. Is it good for a gaming screen? Say I connect to Xbox? I see someone said not great for gaming. If anyone has frist hand expriernce. Appreciate it!

Thank you for the very insightful response. Noting now I'll need a new screen per your recommendation. I was able to purchase before the price change. Hoping it's an easy transition to short throw, but hear people get frustrated at times too. If that happens to me, I may throw in the towel early and move to a $1k standard throw and just get the additional wiring done.

I followed the same route couple of months back. Got Dangbei Mars Pro 4K Projector - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...UTF8&psc=1 and never looked back!

What I noticed this week is that the Dolby vision short throw projectors are going as low as $3000 and the non Dolby vision short throw projectors are going below $2000. Just an FYI for perspective to everyone.

If you want to read a review and not idiots on Amazon.
Do you know LG offer extended warranty. Just 1 year warranty seems risky for such a large investment.

2500 lumes doesn't seem that bright. Anyone who has this have an opinion on the brightness? Both during the day and with some ambient light?

Use Akko or purchase extended warranty if you are concern. That is what I use for electronics. Another option is buy it using a cc that offer extended warranty.

Go read more of the reviews. Apparently a bunch of these DOA out of the box or shortly thereafter. Why I've written this model off my list over the past year of research. Unfortunate since it's a really great deal and good projector.

If you're willing to spend $500 more check out the AWOL Vision LTV-2500. On sale right now for $2,299. Similar brightness and you get full triple laser.

The input lag is why they said it is not good for gaming. A reputable reviewer tested it at 54ms, which is really high if you want to play competitive games. Even on non-competitive games, it can cause issues. I have been looking at the benq x3000i for a projector. I'm not in need of the ultra short throw projector, so a more traditional one works for me. This projector offers something like like 16ms at 4k resolution and 4ms at 1080p. There are also cheaper gaming projectors that use 4k "pixel-shift." It's a form of upscaling to make 1080p project at a 4k resolution to reduce pixelation. It is not as crisp as native 4k but they are worth looking into.

I bought a projector and regret a bit. It depends on the type of the game. If it's a game where FPS matters then no. For me, the main problem is the sheer screen size. While gaming on 100~120" sounds really awesome, it's very tiresome for your eyes. I get tired really quickly and sometimes even feel motion sickness. What I ended up as best gaming setup is to game on 48" OLED TV. Much easier on the eyes and smooth 120hz can't be beat on any projector.
