My wife and I take turns putting the account in our names every 2 years. We just alternate.

You're right. The standard plan doesn't include unlimited data. Most states have a 1.2TB/month soft data cap -- some North Eastern states are exempt from that data cap I believe. From what I understand, users who go over the data transferred per month are given one warning if they go over it the first time. The next months if they do go over the limit, they'll get charged something like $10 overage fee per 50GB, maximum of $100 overcharge fee. See: https://www.xfinity.com/support/a...ceed-usage

However, I am seeing that the Xfi Complete addon is available for $10/month extra bringing the total costs up to $35/month. For $35/month this plan still seems worth it with unlimited data and higher upload speeds (for select regions [reddit.com])***.

If anyone is going with this plan, I do recommend getting this "Xfi Complete" as it unlocks unlimited data caps (as opposed to 1.2TB without it), and it also unlocks upload speeds which for me tested out to be around 115Mbps, as opposed to something much less like 10Mbps without. For me, this add-on is essentially a required item.

For anyone's existing network setup, I actually didn't have to configure and/or make much changes to my network settings either. With Xfinity's gateway, I just logged in and switched to Bridge mode, which essentially made it a modem-only and then connected my router via ethernet wired, and everything worked as per my previous configuration I had with my previous internet service provider.

I thought they go by household? So I can cancel my internet and same day my wife can call activate internet on her name? That doesn't seem right
Nope, it's just a name. I've been doing this swap for at least 15 years. Though, I don't have to always swap names. I usually set my calendar for the month my contract or promo is about to expire, call their retentions department. I am usually successful in getting them to get me on a new promo for similar pricing as a new customer. If they refuse, I sign up under my spouse's name. Wait a year or two, rinse and repeat.

Down time is minimal if you have your own equipment.

Ok I finally signed up as an existing customer, online, without any human intervention. Here are the steps in order ( that is important as some others have breezed past in previous posts.)

1. Open a browser window in incognito mode, so it does not know your current customer
2. Find the deal in the front page of xfinity.com
3. Enter address, select 'Im moving here as a new customer'
4. Click thru the order process, when it reaches 'create a new login' step, enter your existing login info instead.
5. I used the exact same details as before, name, address, phone, except billing is bank account for the extra $5 discount vs CC before.
6. After submitting successfully you should receive emails that login is now linked to a new account, cancellation has been requested, and once logged in, you can choose which last 4 digits of account to see.

Other specific details of my scenario is, I was on $40/mo 75 MBs plan, out of contract, using & keeping my own equipment.
Did your new service start right away?

200 mbps for 25… what's the catch I just got Xfinity paying like 120 a month wtf
The catch is they want you to forget when the promo expires (since they don't warn you before your promo is about to end) and they hope by the time you realize it, you've already been charged the full price. Then you get to fight with billing for 17 years to get a refund.

I pass on this and the free router solely so I don't have to worry about returning equipment 2 years from now. I'd rather go to the dmv
Ups store. That simple

Why do i see this mobile discount as mandatory??

You will receive a $20 monthly multi-product discount for 24 months if you sign up for Xfinity Mobile and activate a new line with Unlimited Data within 90 days of this order.

Is this 25 including that?

existing customer here. Spoke to CS and downgraded my 400mbps to 200mbps for $25/month. There is no data cap and the rate is locked down for 2 years with 1 year on contract. Not so worried about the contract as i dont have any other option in my area apart from xfiniity. Was Paying $40 for 400mbps and this looks like a good savings despite the speed cut.

Looking through the sign up process in Chicago I'm only seeing that with the xfi add-on it's 10mb/s upload not 200mb/s like some others were posting. Is there a trick to this I missed?

20 years with a company grants you a GREAT phone call with the Retentions Department.

Call up Comcast and say the magic word "cancel service". They will route you to someone that will beg you to stay.

days of haggling over the phone for better pricing has been long gone for years now, theres a retention department but if youre already on a promotion their system won't allow it.
