However, I am seeing that the Xfi Complete addon is available for $10/month extra bringing the total costs up to $35/month. For $35/month this plan still seems worth it with unlimited data and higher upload speeds (for select regions [reddit.com])***.
If anyone is going with this plan, I do recommend getting this "Xfi Complete" as it unlocks unlimited data caps (as opposed to 1.2TB without it), and it also unlocks upload speeds which for me tested out to be around 115Mbps, as opposed to something much less like 10Mbps without. For me, this add-on is essentially a required item.
For anyone's existing network setup, I actually didn't have to configure and/or make much changes to my network settings either. With Xfinity's gateway, I just logged in and switched to Bridge mode, which essentially made it a modem-only and then connected my router via ethernet wired, and everything worked as per my previous configuration I had with my previous internet service provider.

I'm currently on a 200mbps contract at $40/month for 2 years, I don't see this deal since it's the same speed as my current plan. I'm wondering if I could downgrade and then upgrade back to 200mbps if this deal appears.
Go into chat, ask for loyalty -- if that doesn't work with the automation, then tell the first person you talk to that you want loyalty department.
Tell the loyalty department that you want the deal and that you'll go to Verizon Internet if they can't do the deal.
Make sure you have the MAC address for your router. If you use theirs, you might not need this, not sure.
Ask if they can cancel and then resubscribe you for the lower price. Then when they disconnect your Internet, wait until you get a text saying you need to authorize the new service. Click the link.
Once that's done is when my modem was deregistered and going to any website resulted in the Xfinity splash page. Go into the app and look for "authorize device" - it was on the bottom for me. Go through the steps - reboot router, etc - and then type in the MAC address when asked.
About 5 minutes later, it'll reboot and you'll be in business. Check your email for confirmation and you should be good.
That's the streamlined version of what I did - only it took an hour to get through my own troubleshooting to get to that point.
Could've been because I was being nice to the rep (it's not their fault they have dumb policies) and I also mentioned the $25/mo Verizon Home Internet deal.
