Any reason why? Gen4 should be backwards compatible with gen3 motherboards.

$116 with Samsung EPP. Buy 2 and the price is $113 each. And you get to avoid Newegg

Trash deal 2TB drives are $80. Why is the pos gen3 drive 1.5X more. Samsung again milk suckers for all they are worth. Consumers have been stuck at 1-2TB SSDs for the past decade because Samsung, SK Hynix and Micron have been colluding to screw the consumer over.

Yes it's Gen 3 but if it's your 2nd NVMe drive on a B550 motherboard, your 2nd can only operate at Gen 3 speeds anyway. So for that configuration there is no benefit to buying a 2nd Gen 4 NVMe, and this one is a good price. I have it in an Gen 3 AM4 build and "for a Gen 3" it's fast.

On the other hand, I can buy a PCIe 4.0, 2TB Fanxiang NVMe from Aliexpress for less than $100 and it does 5,000 MB/s reads. And I can get a PCIe 3.0 KingSpec for $86.80. Both of these drive come with heat sinks too.
