I bought one of these last year, it worked ok, sometimes needed a second pass due to thick grass.
However toward the end of the summer/fall mine developed an issue where it would just turn off after a few seconds. I don't know if the safety disconnect is malfunctioning or what, I haven't taken it apart to mess with it yet, but apparently the turning off thing isn't an uncommon issue.

just a heads up for anyone considering. Something is wrong with mine and it's never been mistreated. It just keeps turning off. I'm gonna mess with it this spring and try to figure out what is going on with it.

All the people hating on cordless mowers... I've had a Snapper 60v mower for 7 years now and that thing has worked FLAWLESSLY. Still haven't had to sharpen the blade, but use it for trim work as my lawn tractor does all the heavy work. Still runs about 20-25 minutes a week and I live in the deep south so that's 8-9 months out of the year of a mowing season. Still has the original batteries. Get with the times, folks. No more fighting carburetors, rope pulling, air filters, or anything else.

Gas will literally last forever if you drain the gas out and replace oil every year. And maybe a spark plug and air filter once in a while.

I have what is basically the very cheap entry version, 18" blade, mulch and side discharge only, but its still a 40v single battery mower. Only issue i notice, is during peak summer, where my grass is thriving full thickness, does it struggle and can completely stop if i push it too hard. Do these guys suffer the same problem if worked too hard? As a child I cannot ever recall my parents/grandparents gas mower ever stopping due to grass clippings.

Yes! I have done this a ton with HD. You just gotta call. I think it's within 30 days though. Good luck!

I tried this same mower last year ($250 at the time) and it did an OK job cutting, but since it is so light up front, left crop circles on my thick zoysia lawn going back and forth after a turn. I returned it after a few mows after determining it is better suited for other grass types and not cutting Zenith Zoysia at 1.5". Just a heads up.

This looks like a much better deal 48v vs 40 and 21 inch vs 20. Energy and Inches Matter!

Actually I need advice. I notice the Sun Joe is 48 total volts and 4AH and this is 40v with 6AH. What is better?

I do not recall the timeline but they did for me last year. It was this 299 and I bought right before fathers day a week later I think it was 50$ cheaper

Is this very heavy? I have a small yard, but there are a couple of steep hills for the walk out basement. I'm wondering if I should get a self propelled instead.

Should I buy this or wait for a big sale from direct tools? I am not in a huge hurry and have had good luck with direct tools.

Mine too, the safety switch had issue after 20-30 times mowing. I got pissed off and returned back HD and I hired someone to do it. It totally discouraged me
