Which is precisely why we archive! https://archive.is/ucvkn
The online link still has the old policy.

I think they have the new policy internally and are telling us that this is the new policy from today and cant unlock until 60 days.

Original policy page archive here: https://archive.is/ucvkn
2nd bullet point:
"Was paid in full when you bought it (not on an installment plan). You don't have to wait 60 days to unlock it."

Tried the same steps. Someone earlier suggested to change the device manually. Tried that as well. The unlock request says the device is active in another account, has to remove it in order to process the unlock.
Is the Fold 3 still appearing in your AT&T account, after you moved the sim card to the unlocked phone?

Ok, I just placed the order, whats next? Phone arriving Friday. Once I receive it, pop the sim into an unlock phone, wait for the account to show that phone and then go ahead and call the tech team to unlock?

I had such high hopes on Sunday. After wasting hours in BB on Friday and then Saturday I was able to walk out the store with the phone. Turns out the BB guy canceled my account unintentionally. When I left we were both assuming that my number would just be ported over.

Anyway, on Sunday it was clear the port wasn't going to work. Before calling, I tried the unlock portal with the IMEI. Received the dreaded 14 day message. Called AT&T and the rep was nice and confirmed it was eligible for an immediate unlock. However, nobody could get around the limitation unless a ticket was raised by the "back office". He told me that would take 24-48 hours. At that time a ticket number would be generated. The unlock would take maybe another day to go through. Took 4 total phone calls on Sunday and over an hour but I thought I was at least on the right path.

Fast forward to the 48 hour mark. No ticket, no communication from AT&T at all. Rather than spend another hour (or hours) on a phone call I went to the FCC. Hopefully, that route will mean less wait time for me. May take longer overall to unlock but I'm sick of calling AT&T.

What a complete disaster on their end. Conflicting policies, horrid customer service, crummy technology (issues with porting in and creating accounts). It is just an all-around train wreck. I love the Fold 3 so far. Better stay that way for how much of a hassle this was. Haven't been a customer of AT&T for 15 years. This pretty much guarantees it will be at least another 15 years before I consider them.

that is really ridiculous, when I called them at 3pm, the policy hadn't changed yet. I call att again after transfer to a supervisor, the lady helped me unlock the phone without question. I guess it is the one-time exception.

If you type unlock eligibility from the search bar on their website it still takes you to this:

Still says you don't have to wait the 60 days.
