I have successfully unlocked just now. Below are the steps that I did. No calls or message to Att support. 1. Inserted the new SIM card into fold3. 2. Removed the new sim and added to existing unlocked phone. 3. Made a call from new sim. 4. Went to Att unlock request site and requested to unlock and selected no Att phone number. 5. Entered imei, first name, last name and email address. 6. Got confirmation code and email to confirm unlock request. 7. Once confirmed unlock request immediately got the email saying unlock request successful with unlock code. Inserted t mobile sim and fold asked for unlock, entered what I got in email and got a message unlock successful.
So the unlock portal seems to be working as before then. Did you do a new ATT account for this?

Does anyone know what would happen if I just never activate the device (pop the sim out before booting it up) on Verizon? I'd still be using my current phone on my current Verizon plan

I tried unlocking again in the portal, this time after canceling my service, and now it states: "We can't unlock your device. Service for this device was canceled within the 14-day return policy period."

I tried earlier today and was denied because "The service on your mobile number hasn't been active for at least 60 days.". I tried again, but it says I'll need to wait 24 hours. My device is arriving tomorrow but I was able to get IMEI through BB chat.

Whatever you do cancelling the line before unlocking seems to be a bad idea.

Maybe you do need to follow the steps other mentioned to first activate the device (or attach to ATT network) and then move sim to another device to disassociate it from the account. I think the error msg is misleading in the way that it gives you an impression that your device is active but less than 60 days but I think what's happening is that the system can not find the record that the device was used on the network at all.

When you first activated your line, did you do it on the fold or another unlocked device?

Anyone know how to order it. It lets me get to cart but then says item is unavailable.

Did you have to pay ATT any money?

No. They cancelled it under "buyer's remorse."

What's the best way to cancel my service? I successfully unlocked via the portal method. Attempting to port out to Tello says my number can't be ported. The original number was a Tello number if that matters.

Can you please give like a more detailed explanation. I'm sorry I had never tried that before but I just talked to their customer service and they didn't want to unlock the phone I even have screenshot of the previous policy before they changed it last night and still nothing Frown
