As an introduction to kayaks for under $90, I have no problem with this K2. It comes with everything you need except life jackets (required per state). But consider it a canoe. It would be long for one person, but 2 adults would be pushing the maximum capacity. The K1 would be better for solo or older (10+) kids if the price is reasonable. At one time, they got down to $35 (pre covid). Last year I was happy to find them for $70. Looks like they got down to $50 recently. Hard body kayaks are superior in every way, except transporting them. I don't have any experience with the Orange Intex kayak on SD right now, but the green Challenger is the two man version of the K1. It is better shaped than the yellow version, but you will get wetter. It is a tighter fit because the sides wrap into you more, but more "kayak" than "canoe". Both are good… just depends how you want to experience the water. My dad has a $4-500 inflatable that rivals or is better than hard body kayaks, but a different market than what I was in.
We go to parks/campgrounds that rent kayaks. The price you save by bringing this K2, will pay for itself in 1 or 2 afternoons. Hose off after each use when you get home and let dry completely before storing. Should last several years that way.
To see if you like to kayak, rent one for an hour or two, or borrow if you can.
Costco has a usually good prices on hard body kayaks in Spring.
You could return it if you don't like it, which I doubt.
If you buy a hardbody, I'd go for the thicker plastic. Heavy but more durable.
Mine is a Fusion 124. Was $200 back in the day on sale at Dicks. No Paddles, last time I saw one they were around $400.

This one has exceeded my expectations for many 6-7? years If you can transport one, that is the way to go. If you're lakes or rivers with lots a traffic, buy yellow or red.....
The biggest pain is of course the manual pump. If you can get yourself a battery powered or electric pump than this becomes an even cooler deal.
It'll definitely hold two full sized adults with no issue.
You can even leave one of the seats out and just go solo with more room to take stuff with you.
I do NOT recommend taking this into some bumpy water, but a still lake and you'll have a great time.
The rows are basic and on the shorter side, but they're compact and fold away to make things easier. They do the job, but could be better.
Overall, the quality of this thing is really good. Probably used mine 15 times and yet to see any imperfections with the quality.
Lot of fun getting outside and do something new.
Get yourself a better pump and you're good. Take your time when putting it away - make sure to bring a towel to clean and dry before folding it.
