There's your problem. There's a significant difference between the qn85b and qn90b. Qn85b is not worth buying at any price and the qn90b is one of the best tvs out there.

I got this TV, but the TV arrived damaged and need to return this, but not sure how to tie those plastic straps back to the box.

Can anyone help?

I just taped the bottom and prayed it made it back with Fedex. It did so got my refund. Then getting the replacement was a hassle itself. Had to reorder for more expensive then when the other one got returned they price matched my previous, but I had to fight them for the full discount.

When speaking to the delivery driver this go around, he explained that they will only send 2 men to deliver a TV if the destination is not on the 1st floor. When I pointed out the shipper instructions by Samsung requiring a mandatory 2 man delivery, he laughed and said, if we followed those instructions, it would take us years to deliver all of the TVs we do day in and day out. He iterated their company policy of only sending 2 men out if not on the 1st floor.

First box unboxed, some surface level scratches and fingerprints everywhere all over the top, side, and bottom of the panel. Definitely some terrible QC in logistics side of Samsung there. Peeling off the protective plastic, the panel was clean of damage. Running DSE tests, only noticeable on the edges, and only if you're looking for it. Probably only accounted for less than 10% total of the panel. The second box which had the boot prints at the top, revealed damaged foam all over the place. Once again some scratches, no dents. Peeling off the protective film revealed damage to the panel. Turning on for DSE test, and there were 2 large bars, one for each side of the panel, about 30% in width each. Ran some 24hr tests overnight from pixel to color, dse, uniformity, etc, and next day was still the same. That's currently being scheduled for pick up later this week.

I will say though, after having gone through 4 shipments, boxing it up is easier than it seems. Not easy at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's truly easy. Just a matter of following the directions written on the box itself alongside the instruction manual provided. The trickiest part is just making sure the foam is placed in the right orientation, so that the plastic lock steps fit smoothly. They come with 4 straps, for return purposes, I only suit it back up with 3 straps, and cut the 4th strap into 3 short pieces to glue, staple, and tape to the other 3 in order to re-use them as proper straps.

The first 2 returns I had, were done by FedEx Freight, and both drivers arrived solo with no straps, a dolly, and a lift. I had to help with those returns as well. On the first very first return, that driver used rope to secure it down, authorized by his manager (he called his boss in front of me). On all 3 calls with FedEx Freight, I did advise them to bring 2 men, a flat bed dolly, and a truck with a lift. More importantly, I advised them the box requires straps or rope. On all 2 occasions so far, FedEx didn't listen to any of that advise. Hoping 3rd time will be the charm.
Just a follow up here incase anyone is interested. The 4th shipment was returned successfully. Fedex Freight like the other return shipments before, ended up not showing up on the initial agreed date. 1st return: rep entered wrong address, 2nd return: rep scheduled for different date (a week out). 3rd return: freight pick-up moved to following business day (Monday->Tuesday) no call or notice of the change. called to verify freight pickup will occur, rep said my original didn't exist, and placed a new request. called for a third time later that day to confirm, and rep said the original request and the new request resulted in a cancellation of both work orders, after pushing further, the rep was able to confirm with the driver, that the original work order is actually still on it's route to pick up at my address. the second rep failed to see the work order because the first rep entered my surname as my first, and my first as my surname. Same result, 1 man, no straps, no flat dolly, but did have a lift.

Order was received, refunded, and replacement order placed at higher prices of course until price match is adjusted. This will be my 5th 85QN90B delivery, and it's scheduled to arrive on Thursday. Hopefully it'll be last one.

If you're repacking the box for return, use 1 of the straps to tape/staple/glue to the other 3 straps to give you the length you need. Rotate the strap so the amended portion is not at the top or bottom, but on the side, to reduce the amount of stress on that weaker point from breaking. Otherwise, you can always tape it shut from the bottom all around.

I came to find out that these TVs when shipped comes from manufacturing location -> distribution center -> shipping center -> shipping distribution center if applicable -> final distribution center -> last mile delivery. So these TVs exchange hands and handling by a lot of different third party involvement by the time it reaches your home. Samsung specifically states a 4 hour delivery window reserved, so take your time to open the box and test the TV when it arrives, to avoid having to schedule a return pick-up and the hassle, AGS will have to take it back if you find it defective upon arrival.

Don't know if anyone else have this problem or not, but: some videos that I play on YouTube I get a buzzing sound. I think it might be a mono sound. I noticed is the right side TV speaker that has the buzzing sound, after using the balance settings on volume settings. This buzzing sound does not happen when using my 5.2 surround system, only with TV speakers.
Don't know if is just my TV or if you guys might also experience such with yours. I tried going through all the sound settings I could find, but nothing stop the buzzing. However after resetting the sound settings makes the buzzing better for some reason, even though it begin as a default setting. Some controls makes the buzzing higher or lower as well, but nothing eliminates it (unless I mute the right speaker using the balance).

Anyone using this TV with an older AVR? Granted my Denon AVR (1911) is like 13 years old but was surprised that try as I might, I could not get regular Arc to work on any content that was 5 channel or higher (it does 7.1). Same via optical. I can get it to work only if I use either method but set the sound mode to PCM (again 2 channel) whereas pass through and Auto produced no sound (although would display MULTI on my Denon making me think they are talking.

I was still able to get all working by using a 2x1 4k hdmi splitter which sends a mirrored signal. One to my Shield and one to my TV, but can't get the TVs smart apps to have more than the pcm sound

I know my denon is old as hell and a new avr is on my bucket list but just wondering if there is something I am missing are more importantly, if this is a defect to catch before the 30 day window. Thanks

I'm liking it but I need to make it look less crisp. Turning off the options seems to get rid of the soap opera effect but then other things become a bit blurry. I know on time I'll adjust to it too.

I don't have this issue with mine. That sounds like a defect.
