Come on. Do not add pre-conditions to earn more. We are talking about no pre-conditions to earn 2% cash back on everything purchase and you just can't find the card to earn more. If you like conditions such as annual fee, member to open a bank account etc, that is a different thing. People may not like those conditions.

Yes, but if you are such a member it's more than 2% cash back
Further, Amex has a card that earns 2x MR points on everything- which if you travel at all is ALSO worth more than 2% cash.
Likewise Chase has one earning 1.5x UR on everything- which again if you travel is ALSO worth more than 2% cash.
$200 for a $500 spend is a perfectly decent signup bonus if you can't afford the higher spend on the larger bonuses- but as an actual card for ongoing use this one is pretty meh compared to other options.... and even THEN there's better $500 spend card signups right now from Chase for example-- which offers 20,000 UR points (which is $200 cash, but again potentially more than that if you travel much) plus 5% back on groceries for a year on 2 different cards (and you can get both- and both also offer bonuses in other categories too)
Now, if you NEVER travel.... well, I'd still take $200 plus 5% back on groceries all year before this one... and it'd give you more reason to obtain BoA status to get their 2.625% on everything option too...
Can't stand the "if you travel" mindset. NOT EVERYONE TRAVELS.
How long does it take to get approved? Its been 3 days and my credit score has already taken a hit. No news of approval yet. Wells Fargo is shady.
I did try applying this card online and not hear from them for a while. One day, they called me and said they cannot verify my identity so ask me to fax my driver license and residency verification. ( Yes, fax is only option in 2023) I ask them to send official mail about it since I am cautious about identity theft. They mail me letter about a week later. I faxed them as per letter. Still got another letter that my application was denied due to verification failure.
Both my wife am I are 800+ FICO score people. Before I received the second deny letter, she got pre-approved letter for the same card. So, she applied only and we got multiple cards under her name. Bummer!
So, it may take several weeks and most likely denied at the end if not instantly approved within a few hours.
I have this card and really regret getting it. The Wells Fargo interface is clunky and Wells Fargo limits how many times you can pay down the card using an outside bank. You can only pay using an outside bank so many times a month. They really push you to open a bank account with them. The system to redeem rewards is the most obtuse and confusing system I've ever seen in a cash back rewards credit card. Terrible card and a terrible bank. Stay away if you can.

I just got the card and i agree, their web UI is terrible compared to Ally or even Chase
I have Old bad credit (charge offs etc) from decades ago.
But want to use a credit card to pay off a delinquent utility bill to rebuild my credit.
Would this card be good? Or too hard to get?
Or any suggestions from anyone?
If you have charge offs from decades ago you can have them removed from your credit reports. I suggest obtaining a report from all 3 reporting agency's first, contest the "old stuff", and after the old stuff is removed then look into a credit card.

My charge offs aren't the issue at this point (they actually have fallen off of my credit report)
The issue we have is with this wastewater bill because they didn't send us a statement for an entire year until it went to collections and then they kept adding interest to it which we couldn't keep up with, so I got to the point where I just stopped paying the bill for the last few months and now it's over $2,000.
I've spoken to some and they said that should be something that is disputable because it's not our fault if we didn't receive a bill/statement.
🤷🤦

For high spenders like my family we find more value in X1. Earning 3% cash back up to $7.5k/mo all year now. Yes the 3% is limited to certain stores but it has no expiration. For instance I just went back and expensed apple purchases from 2020 and got $3000 back which I deposited in savings.
The 2% from Wells Fargo, Citi and others is definitely great alternative and that's what we used for years before x1 came out.
But X1 anymore only gives you 3x points specifically on monthly spend above $1000 but below $7500... the first $1000 spend only gets 2x, as does any spend over $7500.
Moreover, the points are only worth 0.7 cents generally, and then 1 cent at a list of just a few dozen merchants (a chunk of those being merchants there's cards offering a lot better value for too like some airlines, online retail, etc)... so your EFFECITVE rewards on your spend are always going to be less than 3% anyway (and potentially a lot less) every month.
Seems like it'd be a lot less trouble to get BoA status and enjoy 2.625% actual cash back on everything without regard to amount of spend, or where you use the rewards- and combine with a couple of 5.25%/5x cards for the couple of categories you spend the most in.
Lol just got denied with 811 credit and $150k+ annual gross income. I bet Wells Fargo is just phishing for personal information so they can open more fake accounts.
TY captain obvious. the point they are making is buying things you other wise would with a credit card to improve your credit. I have never had nor needed credit, but many people want to buy a house or car on credit. If that is you then using credit cards responsibly is a good way to build credit. GF has a 815 credit score right now because I taught her how to use credit cards responsibly and pay off 60k credit card in 2 years. $200 for signing up and using a decent credit card seems like a good move for many people.

Does that mean I have to make a minimum payment monthly or pay zero for 14 months?
Minimum for 14 months then complete current balance month 15.

Uh, that's WHY folks specify the value is different IF you travel than if you don't.
You seem mad people are providing relevant extra info
