Come on. Do not add pre-conditions to earn more. We are talking about no pre-conditions to earn 2% cash back on everything purchase and you just can't find the card to earn more. If you like conditions such as annual fee, member to open a bank account etc, that is a different thing. People may not like those conditions.

I just applied and am really surprised that my application was denied. I have two WF cards, and an excellent credit score (WF tracker shows FICO of 850). Thanks for sharing the deal, OP.

Did they give you a reason? They denied me the first time and I have two Wells Fargo accounts, a Wells Fargo credit card and an 800+ credit rating. The reason they gave was that I had too many credit cards already.
I waited a month or two and reapplied and got it. Sometime after they sent me an application for their "Signify" card (business version) and I qualified for that as well even though I think I had at least two more credit cards by that point.
I would suggest you wait a little while and try again.

Thanks. They indicated that they are going to mail me a letter with the reason for denial. I will follow your suggestion. I actually would use this card after the bonus, for the 2% cashback.

Exactly why I got it. The signify card isn't really much different, still 2% back and no annual fee but since they were giving a $500 bonus on it I figured, why not?
Note that the Wells Fargo cards lack some features you might want on occasion. Not sure they extend warranty on purchases and I think there are some travel perks that come with other cards but not this one. (ie, rental car insurance) So I don't use it for everything .
On the other hand, if you pay your cell phone bill with the WF card, you will get a certain amount of cell phone insurance automatically.

In all the years I've had credit cards, I don't think I've ever used an extended warranty, but perhaps I have missed out. I guess I need to read up on that benefit of some cards.
Roughly how long did you wait to reapply for the WF card after being declined?

I really don't remember very well but I think at least a couple of months.
This card has become my daily driver for everything other than Amazon (sync or chase), and Food (cap1 savor). I've earned $243.25 so far in the 43d I've had it (ofc $200 of that is the bonus) so $43.25. A dollar a day, definitely not bad. Only "gripe" is that you don't get your CB credits instantly (like cap1) but ehh all good. It hurt to see my AAoA drop, and my credit score get hit (recovered for the most part already) but it was worth it!
The denial letter I received indicates two factors:
-Ratio of credit bureau trades with a balance greater than zero (We look at the ratio of open and closed credit accounts that have a balance greater than zero in the last 6 months)
-Number of revolving bankcards reported by credit bureau (We look at the number of bank credit cards in your credit bureau report)
The best card with sign up bonus as well as evergreen visa by fnbo.
WF gives cell phone damage/loss protection, as well as other cash back deals, which I've used for 5-10% back at Lyft, Fred Meyer, and other businesses. 3% foreign transaction fee for both cards isn't good, but I have a WF Autograph card that gives 3% back on travel, gas, restaurants, and streaming services and phone plans, so handy as a second card to use a single app. As with all bank credit cards, they will nag you to get WF bank accounts.
