Not a deal - was as low as 8.22 and has been at this price for months according to the 3c's. Then there's the fact that many reviews say the products are poorly protected in transit and arrive broken.
I am guessing its because the 16 cell is XL size and has bigger slots.

I have been using these [amazon.com] cheapo starters. Also, use a salad fork to remove your starts from the starter.....

I love these trays but I have to say the packaging around the units doesn't protect them at all. I ordered the smaller ones a few years ago and they had some slight minor stress cracks but I kept them because they still functioned fine. I decided to ordered some more off Amazon recently and the entire order was cracked in multiple spots so I returned them for an exchange. New ones arrived same thing. Every time the shipping boxes were in perfect condition but the trays smashed. Could be some automated system Amazon uses to grab the items thats breaking them I have no idea but all I can say is save yourself the frustration and find them locally where you can inspect them. Lastly I wish they had top dome covers and didn't realize that the first time I bought them so if you need that look elsewhere. Other than those small issues, its a pretty slick product.

This is not a deal is everyday price at Walmart and Amazon this was the price for the past 5 years. They put the price up and marked it down to look like a deal but is not.

If you start more than one or two of these worth of seeds each year, I highly recommend the Ladbrooke soil block kit. High-ish up-front cost, but better results (e.g., air pruned seedlings), should last decades, easy to use, etc.

I've been using the same to start... then moving to bags when I pot up.

https://www.amazon.com/Augshy-Bio...B086PD8QV4

Found the bags helps the roots spread out, rather than getting that little swirl around the bottom of the pot.

Burn a couple holes in the bottom of a solo cup place on a tote lid and cover with plastic. Reusable and disposable.
