Yes, i guess so are just so above all of us, huh, not caring what kind of car you drive at all. Good for you.
Edit: I am not crazy about the looks of a Tesla either. I get it, it's polarizing. There are some people who love it and some who don't. But at least it's not a Bolt. Don't get me wrong, a Bolt has its place and purpose. A good-looking stylish car, it is NOT. I think every non-Bolt owner (and probably many Bolt owners) will agree to that. I think if you are in a professional building parking lot, being seen walking out of a Bolt would be downright an embarrassment. Ok, some of you are above looks and materialism, good for you. The rest of the world doesn't operate that way. You can potentially find the president of a company drive a Tesla, but you are not going to find one driving a Bolt. Not the president of a real company with 50+ employees (unless he/she is so big and rich he is doing it just to prove a point like Bill Gates). Let's be real hear.
Comparing a Bolt to a Tesla has to be the dumbest thing I have ever heard. They both have their merits and their weak points, but they are COMPLETELY different types of cars for different target audiences. It's like comparing a Bolt to a golf cart. Both do their jobs well, just meant for different purposes. So stop with the stupid comparisons.
Enjoy retiring at 65 while you keep up the looks and appearances. I earn enough to afford a 100k car but I'll keep driving 30k cars and retire at 50.
No LiFePO4 battery = No go...
LOL 😆
You're wrong, it is a dual motor with a smaller 4680 battery.
Would you be able to break this down - thanks in advance!
Gas saving is NOT worth it

20k???
"I guarantee"... 🙄
Hydrogen cars are the real future.
Yes, how / which rebates to stack to get the realistic 20k range.
Nope. It also has to have a certain % of the battery come from either the US or a country we have certain trade agreements with-- that part of the requirement is what kicks in April 18th.
So a lot of non-Tesla EVs are having their credit cut to $3750 on that date (the Mach E and Bolt for example). For Tesla the only thing impacted is the RWD Model 3 since it uses LFP cells from CATL in China... all other trims of the 3 and Y use 2170 or 4680 cells, all made in the US.

Spending more time charging than sleeping is representative of EV ownership in most of America's cities and towns today,.
For one- your link is about a roadtrip... 99% of driving is local- and you just charge at home and don't care about fast chargers in the first place.
For the 1% of driving that IS very long trips what your link describes is only representative of NON TESLA EV ownership- because Teslas fast charging network is massive, quick, and incredibly reliable
No.
4/18 doesn't change anything for anybody with Tesla except buyers of the RWD Model 3 config specifically- for them it drops to $3750. For everyone else- no change.
A.) Find a supercharger on your route
B.) Wait to charge (to use the equipment and also wait to charge)
And other than once, over Thanksgiving, I've never had to wait to use a supercharger....even then it was only ~10 minutes because cars don't tend to need to stop longer than 10-15 minutes with Tesla charging speeds these days.
NET time "wasted" fueling your vehicle over any long period is MUCH higher with a gas car than an EV.
For example in Q4 2022 a Tesla using autopilot crashed once every 4.85 million miles.
The national average for all cars is one crash every 652,000 miles.
So roughly 7.4 times more likely to be in a crash in a NON Tesla than a Tesla on autopilot.

Years and years and years of the same now boring design and shape.
Competitors have pulled ahead.
It's almost like people prefer the vastly safer, vastly better performing, vastly better charging network, vehicle over one that refreshed the bumpers more often or something.
Also, LOL, I said, "I don't have the SOURCES",.
Of course you don't. Thanks for debunking yourself
My insurance for a 2019 model 3 and 2021 model Y with 3 drivers, one has 2 years experience (omg teenager driver insurance is going through the roof) is $1534/year for both cars with StateFarm, 100/300/100, 500 deductible, no claims or fines
They catch on fire less (a LOT less) because....they catch on fire a lot less.
Maybe read the source next time before making up nonsense about it and embarrsing yourself?

Interior quality is really bad compared with fellow 50k cars.
Reliability after warranty is questionable. You can only go to Tesla for service and they charged an outrageous labor rate compared with other service centers. Also it might take a while to get your parts.
The cost saving of electricity vs gasoline isn't as big if you already owned a hybrid car like prius. Charging on road trips is actually more expensive.
To give context, my old prius going from San Jose, CA to LA (about 800 miles total) costs about 2 tanks total which is about 80 dollars. If I used my model Y for the same road trip, it will cost me about 25 dollars each charging stop, and I need a total of 4 stops to make it back and forth, so 100 dollars. So it costs 25 dollars more to drive EV on an 800 miles road trip compared with an efficient hybrid car like prius.
The autopilot is a real life saver and worth it for me driving on a long freeway trip.
Another thing that changes my driving is with a regular gas car, I tend to drive a much longer stop like 3-4 hours. While with my tesla, I tend to stop at 2 hours mark and take a charging stop and rest.
As for maintenance, the prius is mostly oil change and occasional tune-up, but nothing outrageous. For the model Y, the biggest maintenance is the tires which cost a lot and need frequent replacement. So 40-50k miles in my prius vs 20-30k miles in my model till I need a new set of tires.
The tesla is more silent while driving as there is no ICE engine, you will hear every road noise and bump on the street. You will tend to pay attention to more rattling plastic.
The prius engine is much louder and you don't pay attention to the little rattling noise.
In short, buy a tesla if you want the most acceleration you can afford in 50k and want to save environment. Buy a normal reliable hybrid car like a prius if you want to save money driving.
Good luck
