While the price is good the product is garbage. I purchased 5 of these a little more than a year ago and 3 have already failed.
drives are trash. mine died in 3 months

Did you get the replacements by claiming the RMA?
Does it matter if you lose your data? I doubt Ethan Hunt would give a crap if he lost the NOC list Smilie

(I've not been here in ages, but...)

Drive is no good, simply put.
It fails, mechanically. It fails electronically.

First one, I had issues with, & then it simply pulled apart. Seemingly held together with a minute amount of glue.
I thought it was a fluke. No, it's junk.

Second one, I had issues with - data corruption. Depending on which way the wind was blowing. Junk.

You can format it, you can run checks on it, you can do what you want with it, does not matter.
Everything may check out, you might copy 100 GB to it & have it all check out, & then, a moment later, 1 moment later, your data is corrupted. Junk.

Bought a Kingston DataTraveler Exodia 128GB instead of this Team, & it just does what you want. It works.
Formats not enough, it's fast because nothing is checked. You have to run something like checkflash to verify all sectors, most people don't and suffer corruption. It's not done at the factory as it takes many hours for drives this slow.

Applies to all cheap drives.

Biggest problem at this point is buying a 2tb ssd and an enclosure is about the same cost per gb and much much faster. Easily max out usb during writes while this is maybe 20MB/s

Garbage flash just isn't cheap anymore.
