Separately, go to settings, set the volume memory function. This way it will turn on with volume you left it at.
If you can't figure an easy solution for such a small problem like this...maybe a sound bar is a better option for your technical level... just gave you 4 solutions.
If you find yourself drastically changing the volume based on your inputs, you have an issue with your set up...not the unit. Most programing should be +/- 10% on the same input. Broadcast tv will vary channel to channel over antenna, but thats about it.

Ive been waiting for this for a while
Ive been checking costco daily and calling weekly!
Update: The warehouse hadn't caught up yet. Same price in the building, no need for online if you have a local Costco.
The most notable feature about the S760H is the volume control. I've never used a Denon receiver before but the volume increments in 0.5 and can't be changed. It reduces the "usability" of the entire receiver.
On the plus side it has easily one of the best "matrix surround" modes I've ever heard. Which is a plus since most of what I watch (YT, sports) is in stereo.
Finally this was on sales last year for $250 which is a killer deal. This price is a lot less "great".
My denon x1500 is the same way. Not understanding the negative impact.
I'd still be happy with it for $400 tbh and it's been flawless for hdmi 2.1 pass through and a marked improvement over an early 2000 model Denon I had that maxed out at DD5.1 and standard DTS over optical

But what is wrong with the 0.5 increments?

Hold down the volume button, it will go faster then 0.5 per click. Multiple companies have this same set up...not sure how it makes it unusable if for some reasons yours is broken and doesnt do this: Switch to DB, more effective way to manage anyway or get a universal (junky ones are even under $20) or use the app on your phone.
