Tough to say.

You can snag a 65B2 from various online sites for 1200ish occasionally, which is a better TV in just about every way.

The Vizio may make for a decent secondary TV, assuming you have some kind of streaming device like a Roku, Firestick, Apple TV, etc. The OS for Vizio TV's is pretty garbage.

I own this tv. It's excellent. Apps are butter smooth, picture is mind blowing. Not sure what extras you're getting for $500 more with a C2 or similar, but I'm gonna be happy for years.

I got it. Wildly better than the LED it replaced. Image is fantastic (I mostly watch at night). Alarmingly better picture, real HDR is awesome.

The Vizio apps work well though I use FireTV stuff most of the time, so haven't had an issue with any kind of slowness

Good point. The processor in my 2016 Samsung is slow enough that it lags today. Wonder if you're shaving off a couple years by not going for something newer.

I've had Vizio higher end series and currently have older 55in LG OLED B7 from a few years ago and the LG is still fine by today standard despite being about 6yrs+ now. The UI is still smooth enough to get the job done, although we only watch prime, apple tv+ and YT premium so I can't speak for other services. Also, local NAS content.

At this price the Vizio is tempting.

This has been this price, and I think it's probably worth it at this price. I just watched a video (7 months old at this point) talking about the 55" OLED stating that performance has gotten a lot better as time has gone on. It doesn't appear that Vizio has abandoned the model. It's probably getting close to EOL, so I can't imagine there will be too many more firmware updates, but from what it sounds like, the feature set on this is pretty fleshed out. If I were in the market right now I think I'd probably consider this.

The Walmart page says it's the 2021 model. Is this not the case? It seems to have some really nice features for gaming too.

Came out in 2020 but is "2021 year model." Rtings review dates to Oct 2020.

The burn in and skipping frames at 120hz are absolute deal breakers.

Turning VRR on fixes the frame skipping issue. All OLEDs have a burn in risk. 🤷

I think the 65A2 is probably better as well and tends to run around the same price point. Comparable screen quality but significantly better interface and OS that won't slow down and crap out in a few years. Probably will be even cheaper here in the coming months given the steep price decreases we've seen lately. Nice to see all these OLEDs finally coming down to reasonable prices.

Of course, none of these would be suitable for gaming if you're looking for a TV that will last for years to come.

Just decided to comment to clear the air on this television. I've had it since it launched. Yes, it was buggy with its software. But that since has improved over time. Now, it operates fairly smoothly. And to be honest, the cons are totally worth the awesome picture quality you get with this thing. Check out reviews for it. Video quality is incredible. Sound sucks, but most people will be pairing this with a soundbar anyways. The refresh rate thing is still up in the air so not sure about that as I only use it for watching media. But, for $998, this is totally worth it. It's not my primary TV as I have a C1 and C2 for gaming and movies, but this thing is in my Master Bedroom and is fantastic.

The A2 has a 60 hz screen and no hdmi 2.1 ports. The vizio is much better.
