I always laugh when I see slow on the SSDs. I guess I'm an old fart that grew up on floppies and found even first gen SSDs amazing fast compared to regular HDD. I get that it may be not instant but again 2TB for $80, would need to have big performance impacts to irritate me.
"Slower" is a relative term. Speed difference will not be noticeable in virtually all real-world applications.
Exactly. My old 4GB EIDE drive would like to have a word.

Hmm interesting. Attractive price but speed seems a bit slow versus other Gen3s I've seen posted. Maybe I'm missing something?

No, you are correct. That's a slower Gen 3 model.

WD blue on sale for the same price is a better option in my opinion.

For most purposes, it's the improved latency of SSDs over HDDs that makes a difference people feel. The transfer speeds matter for big file copies/moves, and that's important to some people's workflow, but it's the near-instant access without moving a head across a magnetic platter to find the file that makes things zippy.

Don't you mean the WD Blue is $20 (20%) more?
This is the only current deal I can find:

My 1.2 gig Connor EIDE hard drive from my '95 desktop is probably still firing up Microsoft Bob after all this time.

I kinda wanna find some way to pipe in fake nostalgic HDD seeking/spinning sounds while I use my current machine, just like with modern sports cars...tune the sound to match certain drive profiles...sometimes my old Connor drive, sometimes the IBM 14gxp (complete with your machine crashing ), and sometimes the Seagate cheetah 15k
