Ring Alarm (2nd generation) devices have been designed with an improved look and feel based on feedback from customers. Both first and second generation Ring Alarm security devices provide the same level of security and protection.
Then consider buying multiple starter kits and just not using the base stations in them.
I have a large home, 6k sq ft, 4 entrances, etc, wound up being a LOT cheaper just buying a few starter kits and giving away the base stations. While the sensors come pre-paired with the base station they come with, you can easily re-pair them with a different base station.
