Sign ups are live. In the wallet app, select your Apple Card, go to the top right menu and hit Apple Cash, and change redemption to savings. Enter your social and you're done.

That's not too far off. You need Apple Pay to use it, and Apple Pay only works on certain versions of iOS.

Although I have done that in the past among several HYS accounts, the sweet spot right now is settlement funds at Vanguard (and possibly others except Schwab who don't offer high-yield settlement funds). VMFXX is paying 4.76 (7-day yield) right now and has stayed high for several months now. Not to mention free of state/local tax.

For money market funds, you do have to pay local interests. Only for T-bill, you can avoid them.

The maximum balance for the Apple Savings account is $250,000. So you can't put more than $250k in.

That's incorrect. You can preapply (soft inquiry) and without a hard inquiry and they will tell you if they will likely approve you or not but when you actually apply it is a hard inquiry just like with any other credit card.
