I have a lot of Columbia clothes - but that third from last pic (Delta color) showing the ridiculous oversized flat front pockets and tight around the ankles pull looks like hammered dog poo.

I'm in between their waist sizes. I assume I should size up, but can anyone who has experience confirm Columbia's waist sizing? Is it standard, tight, loose?

Their sizes are pretty standard. In between, I would size up.
I got some Columbia lined pants for cold weather and they were thin but still totally warm and broke the wind. I loved how I was able to use them instead of needing snow pants or thermals in most cases.
The problem is that they fit awful and the measurements were inconsistent despite same size. Tight legs and loose at the top so they could not stay up even with a belt. The only way I can wear them was with suspenders which annoyed the hell out of me each time but they worked so well otherwise in keeping me warm and dry I put up with it.

I had the same thought about the pockets.
