Nice deal, Pity I still have the Ink Business Preferred active and just applied for Freedom Unlimited... A word of caution with their UR Travel service. I had very negative experience with them lately.
On one occasion, I planned my conference and booked the hotel with UR Travel instead of using the conference link. The price was similar, so I decided to earn a few points... That was bad choice because:
They charged the full amount immediately instead of placing a hold.
When I wanted to shorten my stay, it took me almost 2 hour on the phone to change it. And even then, their portal still shows the old travel dates and it took them 2 weeks to refund the difference, so that I had to pay the balance first.
On the other occasion, I tried to book a cruise with them - even worse headache. They do have some cruises online but not all of them. And definitely they don't have any of the optional packages the cruise lines now have to sweeten the deal. My cruise was not available on the portal so I ended up spending 2-3 hours on the phone with very ignorant UR rewards employee who wanted nothing more than to end the call.
And most importantly... The Ultimate Rewards Travel has been outsorurced abroad, to multiple call centers in at least 2 multiple locations (I heard 2 different type of accents, both equally bad). The UR Travel call center used to be 100% English speaking, very knowledgeable, very nice and attentive representatives. Not anymore. Upon your call you are getting to the badly accented employee who is clueless as to what you are asking such that you have to repeat yourself 2-3 times. Mid you, English is my second language too, so I don't mind repeating, knowing that my accent is also bad. But I also know that it is not that bad so I have to repeat myself so much so it gets tiring. There is also bad lag between you talking and call center responding. This is confirmed on every occasion I had to interact with them. The only way to solve this is to immediately request the US Representative. At least for now this works, but who knows for how long.
Thanks for the heads up. Refer my wife to sign up. That's 15k for referral and 80,000 once the spending requirements are met.
That's what OP said. 80k + 10k in branch.

I got first Chase Sapphire Preferred in 2017, then I closed on last week of March 2023. In my account it says I am already approved for this card. Can I get this or apply again to get the sign up bonus?

You should have downgraded the card instead of closing it... but it's okay. You should be good to apply again since it has been longer than 48 months.

Thanks, also reading thru previous posts it said to get this card you should not be card holder in past 48 months, but I just closed March, can I still get this + eligible for sign up bonus?

If you opened it in 2017 then it has been 48 months since you last received your bonus. If you closed it in March then it has been a month since closure so you are good to go. Closing the card requires a 30 day wait. You're eligible now.

Ok. However in Chase app CSP card still show up and when I click on it says your account is closed. Why it shows up if it's closed and by applying again will it activate this closed card or affect sign up bonus?

It will not have an effect. If you canceled over 30 days ago, you are eligible. I still have an old chase card that I closed over two years ago showing up in my account. What's important is whether the card was closed over 30 days ago.
IF it's been 48 months since you last received a sapphire card bonus then you only have to wait 7 days before you're eligible.
If beyond the 48 month SUB period form last Chase card. Would there be a conflict to downgrade the CSP to CFU and then immediately reapplying for the CSP to get the 80k/90 bonus?
Our deal was only 60,000 points recently. I wonder if they would adjust to the 80k if we called? I highly doubt it, but you never know.
I signed up for the Sapphire card back in mid February this year and received the 60k points last month. At this point I figured there was no way I was going to be able to receive the additional 20K. I decided to call customer support 2 weeks ago and politely asked if it was possible to get the the additional 20K. The agent said she would place a "memo" on my account and it would be reviewed by the "marketing team". I checked my account last week out of curiosity and I see the points were retroactively credited to my account. I didn't think they were going to approve it.
Hopefully they can still honor it. I think the main factor is how long ago the account was open. Good luck!
aww...I signed up when it was 60K pts last month..any chance they could honor the promo rate to me?
They honored it for me. After I contacted customer support they said they would make a memo on my account for the 20K difference. Couple days later I check and can the see points are being retroactive to the day I received the 60K.
Now, would appreciate if anyone can share tips on how to maximize benefits using this card vs others (I have Citi 2%, Costco, Discover 5% rotational, WF Autograph). TIA, cheers 🎉
I can't decide if I should jump on this or wait for Reserve promo for more points? since I can only use one saphhire promo point in 24 month? or 48? and I need saphhire 1.5c per point to use my ultimate rewards points collected around 200k now to get most value
or should I get this and convert it to reserve by converting up ?
Same boat. Currently have the CSP and thinking about downgrading to a chase freedom once there's a CSR promo.

No, it says you should not have received a new card signup bonus in the last 48 months, and not be CURRENTLY holding the card.
As long as both are true you're good.

Not the Chase Sapphire Preferred but the Chase Sapphire Reserve has $550 fee. CSP has $95 AF.
