Everything that David Attenborough does is great and this is yet another one.

For PC. no suggestion.

For a dedicated player I say the Panasonic 420 when it's on sale for around $150 is probably the best overall player IMO.
Top notch performance & very reliable.
The only thing missing is Dolby Vision.

If Dolby Vision is important to you, you might want to look at the Sony x700 for around the same price.
Performance is close & you get Dolby Vision.
The drawback, it's hit or miss with disc issues and you have to manually turn/off Dolby Vision.
I would not recommend the Sony X700 at all. I bought it because it seemed to check every box for a 4k bluray player and had Dolby Vision. I had numerous freezing issues with 4k discs. Completely killed the mood each time it froze.
I have many 4k discs/blu rays and intend to get more so I needed a solid player.
I found an open box Panasonic UBP-820 for $335+tax at Best Buy. Everything just works no problem. I should have just got this in the first place.

Except that the man now has very poor diction. He was so old when the series were made, he could barely talk. Should have retired long time ago. The series that was narrated by Sigourney Weaver was much, much better.

He is 96 years old, show some respect.

Panasonic UB820 is a very good 4K player with Dolby Vision. Homepage menu layout and controller is somewhat dated however. Never liked Panasonic controllers. Was able to get a brand new one from Amazon.com 2nd week of December for around $321.

Yes I had the same issues(including LG).

Owning both(820/420), on a budget the 420 on sale is likely the better value IMO.

The Optimizer does such a good job with HDR, not all disc have DV & when it does the transfers aren't always great.
Not sure the 820 adds performance worth double the cost IMO.

Yeah the 420 is the way to go if Dolby Vision isn't a priority. I wanted to have everything so went with the 820.

Exactly! It's like Bruce Willis: the poor guy was used and abused to the last, trying to squeeze every ounce of money from him. There so many good voice actors, just let David rest and enjoy life.

Was* great. Unless you like to feel a swing of emotions from aww to depression and shame as the documentary throws beautiful visuals at your eyes while simultaneously chastising you for killing everything on the screen then you'll still think it's great I guess.

I haven't followed bluray tech in a while. Seems like this requires special UHD bluray player right? What are the best UHD players for both PC and TV someone can suggest? When I say best, I mean best price and best reliability. Thanks

You should be fine, it's 4 disks. 2 standard Blu-Ray and 2 UHD disks.

I've got an LG UBK-90 (I believe that's the model, working from memory here) for under $200 and it works great.

Lucky you, you're one of the lucky ones.
Another plus is you don't have to manually switch on/off DV like Sony! Thumbup
