The mood is that this is a very nice looking cabinet, but with a single game and cheap feeling guns it's not a high replayability unit for most people.

To your actual question, no one seems to be interested in modding, the two main people that tried have abandoned their efforts due to the controllers having sinden tech but custom firmware (apparently).

I almost jumped on this deal when it was posted last week but have decided to just build my own.

I love the picture of it right next to a couch in a really nice looking home. My wife would love it if I did that

Why are all of these arcade games tall and skinny? I remember them shorter and fat. Doesn't look like enough room for 2 people. Doesn't look right either.

That's a bummer that no one's interested in cracking the firmware. It would be amazing to be able to use these guns (and the AR style recoiling) on some of the Teknoparrot games.
It's an ethical concern - Sinden probably gave these guys preferable pricing since they're mass producing and bought a bunch of them. If people could go and start pulling them out of these machines they'd be less likely to buy direct and it would end up cannibalizing Sinden's sales. They're a small outfit, every dime they lose would hurt.

Was a nostalgic fix during covid… I regret buying a ton of these and making a mini arcade in my basement. I mean they're fun to look at and play for the first few days but in the end I would've probably gotten an ALU instead. No one wants to buy these on offer up or Facebook

I have a basement full of these too and also the ALU and Legends Pinball. Those two machines are way better the A!UP just have more machines and artwork for arcade feel.

Are you planning on cutting your own cabinet? Or using a kit? Just wondering what the best route is. Have a Mister I'd really like to slap in one someday.

Built a joystick last year and now I have the arcade bug

This is my feeling. Instead of the kid sized versions I would (if I was willing to go this route, wife forbid) I would do the Legends and the pinball. Meanwhile I play pinball on my playstation and it's "ok".

I bought a microcenter atari arcade dual stick with trackball thing.... I seriously thought it was keyboard sized based on the pics, nope it's huge. Had that 2 years and have only busted it out once... when wifey was out of town, to play missile command. Nostalgia is a powerful drug until reality sets in, and the work involved becomes apparent.

I have a large CNC so I'll cut my own but from what i can tell there are some really high quality kits out there, it's really just about how much you want to spend.

You build your own Terminator arcade? How? Any hints for me?
