What games? They're a business who are trying to keep their customers.

Ppl on Slickdeals are the ones trying to buy their discounted phones so they can trade it in for $1000 on AT&T

They're not here to make you money, so they're just protecting themselves

Your iPhone 14 Pro hasn't been used for a year yet. Did you not know this? Maybe you're the problem. You're the one trying to play games.

I just completed the chat with an RP rep, and she said that the annual plan would count towards the unlock requirement after you complete the three individual monthly auto payments to fulfill the rebate requirement. One catch though that I read in the small print... the initial monthly payment that you pay for with the phone does not count towards the three autopay rebate requirement. So, you would need to pay for the initial payment during the phone purchase, three auto payments, and then transition to the annual plan. It's really a sixteen month commitment this way (initial + 3 auto pay + 12 month annual plan).
At that point discount is not that great then considering the time you have to stay with them. Would be good deal for someone who just want to upgrade if no new line for 3 months was required.
Although $200 for SE 3rd gen is not that bad it's not popular either so it's best if person wants it for personal use.

I think it is a good deal for the 13 mini with $330 off (inc rebate) if you actually need service. You only need to commit to the $20 per month for 4 months, and then you can covert to the annual plan. They have an annual plan that equates to $15 per month which is a great deal.

I did a few 2022 SEs with them last year, since they are e-sim phones you can have both lines on the same phone. As in activate a new line (E-SIM) then port your other number to a new regular GSMA sim for slot 2 on the new phone. Make sure auto pay is on or you may have trouble with the rebate. Do not assume that the info you enter when ordering the new phone/line auto transfers over to auto pay because it doesn't. The only snag I had during the process. Otherwise it's a good deal, and I've had awesome service from Red Pocket. Please understand the terms of the lock before ordering. Good luck!

ETA- both lines must be GSMA for this to work. If different carriers you will get the phone is locked message. HTH
I had pretty much the same experience buying this phone last fall. I used existing RP GSMA sim as the second line on the phone for calls and SMS to keep my number. I used the new plan for data only. iphone let's you set it up that way.

I almost missed my first renewal because my payment wasn't set up right, but luckily i paid it before the service went inactive so i still got the rebate. I paid for a fourth month to make sure I got it. Will see at the beginning of next year if using my ebay plan qualifies for unlock.

Can we use yearly plan sim after 3 months?
Technically it's 4 months because you prepay for the first month during the purchase. I got tripped up by this but thankfully RP CS helped me eventually sort things out. You have to have autopay "pay" 3 times. So that means you pay for the first month of service with the purchase of the phone then it will auto-renew 3x for your fourth month of service. After that you can switch to the year plan, which is what I did.

I can attest that their normal web chat CS is horrendous - beyond being any sort of helpfulness to the point of wanting to file complaints with every agency out there. There are one or two people that if you call the CS dept that actually care about the customers and will try to resolve you issue. Luckily I have their names and extensions now. Avoid web CS like the plague.

It's their fault. I have 30 pages of chat showing the incompetence. For 4 years everything was good. Since January it's been horrible. I manage 8 lines with redpocket (big family). Visual voicemail never autorenews. I have to buy and ask them to reactivate every month. Repeatedly told by RP it's going go auto renew the next month and it doesn't. Same with hotspot. Have to ask them to turn it on for at least one line every freakin month. But the worst was last month when I had no phone service for a week. They kept saying everything was fine on their end. It wasn't. I was on a business trip and couldn't make calls. Had to set up a google voice. I'd switch but I'm afraid they'll lose my number.

Forget this deal. It sucks. You need to stay with them for a year to get it unlocked. On top of that, cs sucks.

"The initial plan purchase does not count toward the 3 consecutive recurring charges."
Which means to get the $100 rebate, you need to pay at least 4x $20/month in a row.
(Unless you already enrolled in the eligible plan and continue to pay 3 more months.)
What a surprise.

The service is PRO. The monthly plan is perfectly reasonable priced and similar to other good mvnos. People are acting like this is +$40 per month. Redpocket isn't crazy to want to make some profit. They aren't in the business to give away iphones at nearly prices that they purchase iphones for. Where can you buy iphones 13 for $399? Show me the deal where iphone 13 costs $399 with only 6 month requirements at $20 per month? Type in iphone 13 in the search in slickdeals and what shows up? No deals. It doesn't exist except for this deal. You are assuming people are just getting this phone and don't want to use redpocket service. People aren't putting the iphone 13 in a drawer for a year. A smart person would use the service. Redpocket has 98.4% feedback rating on ebay with like 280k items sold so there are lot of happy customers with their service and customer service.

They enforce the 12mo unlocking policy. Super annoying, and wanted me to pay $300 to unlock a $999 iPhone 14 pro I bought with them in September.

This is stupid. Stop playing games RP. 9-19-23 I will be porting back to visible.
Why would you pay full price ($999) for an iPhone 14 locked to any carrier rather than just buying the same phone unlocked directly from Apple for the same price ($999)? Can't think of any reason to do that outside of promo offerings (like free or discounted service offers) or if it was for the 512gb model when they ran the promo for $300 off that device last September, and of course they're going to lock you in one way or another if you take a promo offer (carriers do it via the 3-year contract scheme they call "bill credits").

Assuming there weren't any promos you were trying to take advantage of, you're always going to be better off just buying the unlocked model from Apple directly if you're paying full price for a phone.

I'd get this if I were near the end of my annual plan, but I have 10 months left on both phones, one for ATT and the other for Verizon. BTW, they offer international calling (not roaming) on both but I had contact them to activate it. I use their chat, and it seems like I have to re-activate everytime I get a new plan even with the same phone, tel nbr and sim.

Are phones + plans transferrable? If I buy one and ATT doesn't work well can I sell the package to someone? Anyone know the end date of sale? Considering buying the $10 plan on RP website but sale will probably be over. Anyone know how long it takes to receive a sim from RP website?

Security? Someone who hacks your phone number (sim swap) may gain access to all of your online accounts. This review says their security is non existent. Are esims more or less vulnerable? 14's have esim. I'm on chat with them right now and agent answered everything quickly, then when I asked about security, agent was confused and finally said "Ok, I see. Please give me a few minutes." Just the simple fact that it's not the first and primary topic for them is significant.
Agent just told me: "Verification should have at least any 3 correct account specific information from your such as the following:
1. Last 4 digits of SIM ICCID 2. Last 4 digits of IMEI (for CDMA) 3. Dealer code (if speaking to a dealer) 4. Rate Plan 5. Current AED 6. Last refill date 7. Activation date
8. Name on the account
9. Address on the account
10. Email address on the account

11. Make and model of device showing on the account
12. At least 3 phone numbers usually called or texted

sooo....anyone with your name, address, and email or phone model can steal your number sounds like to me. good idea to at least make a separate email for the account.

https://www.reddit.com/r/redpocke...rity_is_a/
"I called them several times ..about making potential changes to my account. They never asked me for more than two or three randomly picked things...They did not ask for the PIN set on my account, or the ICCID numbers, .. etc. They literally put the PIN in the 'name' field of my phone lines, which is openly visible whenever I logged in !!"
