avoid Steelseries keyboards at all costs. their software is absolute trash and their keyboards are constantly getting disconnected at random and they refuse to acknowledge this issue. do a quick Google search and look at all of the mentions of these issues, it's not worth it.

I have this keyboard. It is wired so not sure how people are getting disconnects (I never experienced this.) It is definitely not a quiet keyboard though.

I have this exact keyboard, bought it back in 2020 and haven't had a single issue with it, software, or hardware. The keyboard isn't as quiet as my Apex 150, which i switched to this after losing a part of the keycap hold when a key came off. key still works, but I don't like a key that jiggles. I preferred the apex 150, rgb colors seems a bit better to me, and it was quieter than this one when typing.

it being wired has nothing to do with disconnects caused by their terrible software/drivers.

I've got steel series wired keyboard and no disconnects. Not sure how it even happens.

Why do u need a special driver/software to use this keyboard? Can u just skip it altogether? I'm not interested in any special functions. Just in the market for a silent keyboard.

you can avoid installing their software (which allows you to edit the RGB lights and setup hotkeys) but their faulty drivers are required in order for the keyboard to work. you can uninstall the drivers and have Windows recognize it as a generic USB device (which is what's recommended on the Reddit threads about these issues) but it doesn't seem to fix everyone's issues.

I have this keyboard and like it a lot. It does take a long time to wake up my computer after it has gone to sleep though - as if the keyboard is disconnected. My mouse wakes up the PC much quicker.
