Bought this for $12 two weeks ago. It seems great but obviously I can't vouch for longevity. I was shocked by how high quality the enclosure is, though.

Why?

For $4 (or less) you can have the same from a trusted brand name.
TP-Link equivalent was $14.99 recently on amazon (before 15% off, making it $12.75 during the promotion).

There is a point where minor savings might not justify the experiment with a random new brand (even though it might turn out to be just fine - or not)

Tenda has been making routers and switches for well over a decade.

They're not TP-LINK and definitely not Netgear in size, but they are not a "random new brand" by any means.

Wayback has their site cached since 2012: https://web.archive.org/web/20230...endacn.com proving their longevity in networking hardware.

300 Tenda Router/Switch networking hits on SlickDeals alone since the beginning of 2010: https://slickdeals.net/newsearch.php?q=Tenda&searcharea=deals&searchin=first&isUserSearch=1

I have owned a number of their items from deals here over the years. They are just as good as TP-LINK and never had an item fail.

Agreed. I'm just catching up with the thread and saw the post about this being a no name brand. Tenda has been around a long time and they typically make decent stuff. Hard to go wrong here, on basic, name brand, inexpensive switch.
